Reflecting on 26
To start off my birthday Dan got hubby of the year award! I am typing my first blog from my iPad! I love it, and Kypton is starting to enjoy it. He mostly likes to carry it around so we're working on sitting with it. I pretty much slept all day..got up fed Kypton breakfast played for a bit, got ready for the day then off to sleep I went for a good two maybe three hours. Tonight, we went to the mall to look for shoes for Dan's new suits we bought on Black Friday. Then had Red Robin...YUMmm for dinner with my brother and parents. It was delish...as always!!!
Tomorrow, we need to pick up Dan's suits and then family is coming over for dinner. That also means going grocery shopping and cleaning! Both of which I enjoy doing.
I love this time of year! With the holidays, food, family, friends, the Christmas lights and music, people tend to be on the jolly and happy side (for the most part!) Best time of year by far!
PS for those of you who keep asking to see Kypton's photos... I'm working on it :)
Hope everyone is having a great start to the holiday season!

1st BIRTHDAY!!
He started walking around 10.5 months (yes, I have been lacking on blogging!) he talks so much now. We are up to apple, hi, no-no, yea-yea, dog, mama, dada, quack-quack and other words were not sure of...right now we are working on ho-ho-ho for some holiday spirit..
We had his birthday party actually last week--it was a lot of fun--and a lot of work getting it together but we are so thankful for all of our friends and family that could make it. Kypton has a lot of people that care about him and we feel so blessed!
I know I haven't put up 11 month photos and there wont be any photos on this post as we are again at my parents house! I told them I think they just like when we live with them for the fall months. Haha--sadly not the case. A long story short, we got rid of the two dogs :( It was super hard but we knew that they needed a home where they got more attention. I never thought that when we had kids we would skimp on dog time. I thought after the kids were in bed we would cuddle with the dogs..not the case after Kypton is in bed...I am past ready for bed. So, sadly, we made the hard decision to give them up. In doing so we found fleas (NASTY!!) I know everyone says it's bound to happen when you have pets but really NASTY!! So, our home is being treated and we didn't want Kypton around the chemicals even though some people would say they are safe. Well, we would rather be safe than sorry...so we are here, Dan goes to the house everyday to check things out and do a little cleaning. Needless to say I am a paranoid freak now when it comes to anything small and black...(more so than usual!)
The past few weeks before Kypton's birthday I helped my parents tear off wallpaper in their formal dining room, and paint the kitchen, entry, and the formal dining. We cleaned top to bottom. The night before his birthday my mom and I were up until 4am working on things. It all looks amazing now (not that it wasn't nice before) and updated :)
Kypton and I have been spending our days doing laundry and making sure the house stays clean. kypton isn't sure what to do with all the room he has to walk around in. I think between their main living-level and the stairs he gets more than the recommended amount of exercise haha.
Tomorrow we will be taking our first trip to the zoo. Now that he really points and is really interested in things around him we thought it would be fun to do on his 1st birthday :)
I think that is about all I need to catch you up on..I will be sure to get photos up asap..it might be a few days if not more..we shall see.
We hope everyone is doing well and ready for the start of the holiday season.
We are ready for some good eats this week :)

10 Months
Kypton is growing like a weed! He is wearing any where from 12 month to 24 month clothing. It seems like we buy him something a size bigger and two weeks later it is fitting perfectly. He is a walking machine these days. He plays the game of walking back and forth to us when we are on opposite sides of the room at night. He started walking late last month but is just now really getting the hang of it. He is starting to use "words" he can say pup which is for the dogs of course, op which means I "dropped it, or it fell" really he probably threw what ever it was he had in his hand. He does say op aka oops sometimes when he falls down. He says papa for Grandpa, and randomly he says yup. It always seems to be when we ask him a question but who knows...we're just happy he is starting to use words. He is also getting the pointing thing down, usually for something he knows he's not supposed to have.
Today, he woke up from a nap, pointed to my iPod, looked at me, shook his head no-no, and went to grab for it with a big grin. He knew he wasn't supposed to have it but he thought he would try anyway. He is a silly and crazy little one let me tell you. He is always seeing just how far he can go before we say no. Like the DVD racks those get pushed over at least a few times a week. Yesterday, he was getting close to them and I said no. He looks at me and literally runs the other way. Yes, he moves rather quickly if he is holding on to something in this instance it was the couch. We have our hands full but it is so fun and he is the best thing in the world!
What else has he been up to? Pictures are a lot harder to take, he hates to be still..especially if it's close to nap or bed time. He will clap his hands or continually roll if he is trying to avoid going to sleep. Oh, side note he now has two top teeth. He now has four! I know I should be better about posting as things happen but geez, he is growing and changing so quick I can hardly keep up. At night I am really tired..thankfully it has been so nice we can go for walks (which he loves to ride in the stroller and be outside!)
I am in the process of planning his birthday which I am sad but also excited for. I can't believe he is almost one, I can't believe I have almost been a SAHM for a full year already. We have so much to be thankful for and feel so blessed, but that is a whole-nother post.
Here are some 10 month photos as well as some of our pumpkin patch photos...enjoy!

3 Months Until Christmas!!
This post brought to you by Kmart. All opinions are 100% mine.
The holidays are right around the corner and that can only mean one thing...Holiday SHOPPING!! People are starting to get their lists ready and being that we have five nieces and now a son to buy gifts for we had to start our budget early. With Kmarts layaway program we are able to get the gifts people asked for while sticking to our budget. It's so easy (you can also do layaway online!) You might be wondering how it stacks up to other major retailers....take a look for yourself..there is no compairison--

How does it work--You have a small downpayment when you set up your layaway account. You have a choice of an 8 or 12 week payment plan in which you make bi-weekly payments until you have everything paid for. Then you go to the store and pick up your paid for items. No credit cards, no paying for this Christmas after Christmas!
I love shopping for our nieces and I am excited for this Christmas for our son to actually enjoy the holiday. Here are some of the things we are eyeing for our free layaway and with any luck we have a chance to win one of Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaways! Start your layaway now..have it paid for before black Friday and beat the shopping rush..Kmart's Big Layaway Giveaway
Here are a couple of things on our list--
I hope we are one of the weekly winners for the BIG LAYAWAY GIVE AWAY!! We could win, from now until November 17th $500.00 from one of the stores. Each store is doing this so you should have no problem finding a Kmart close to you. If you have a tight budget like us for the holidays winning $500 would be an AMAZING start to the holiday season! **Lucky Dust to all of You!!**
Hopefully you are all getting excited for the holidays (I know a lot of people get stressed) but hopefully this post will get you on the ball this year and you wont feel the stress of shopping!
Enjoy!!

Much Needed Rain!
We spent a majority of the day just lounging though. We went to hang out with my rents and had some pizza. Kypton played and played..he was so tired he kept falling a sleep while eating which hasn't happened for a while!
We're home and relaxing and enjoying the quiet for the rest of the evening!
Happy Weekend!!

Friends, Family, and the Iowa State Fair!
The day after we got back Kypton's friend had his 1st birthday so we went to help celebrate. Then that week we caught up on some sleep and got him back on a regular schedule. We also had to retrain sleeping in him own bed. He hated his pack and play on vacation so he slept with up all week so when we got home Dan and I were ready to sleep in our own bed without random kicks to the ribs and slaps to the face in the middle of the night so into his crib he went. The fist few nights were rough as you can imagine but by Friday he had it down!
Come Friday we were having some friends over for a thank you dinner as they watched our dogs for a few days (last minute) while we were gone. As I was getting ready to order the pizza online my computer said it had some new updates, do the update go to restart, hard drive crashes!!! I was so mad, the only saving grace was that everything was saved on my iPhone. We spent all day last Saturday at the Apple store (it was bonkers in there!!) Then as we were on our way home from the Apple store I was like I should get my ring cleaned today, look down and notice one of the stones is missing. Not one of the three biggest but one of the small ones on the band. Needless to say it was a long, emotional weekend for me, lol!
Sunday we just hung around I tried to get some of my photos back on to my new hard drive. We went and had ice cream in the after noon then headed to my parents for some pizza and to hang out.
This past week we had a lot of visitors!! :) Let's see, Monday Great Grandma D came to visit as she wanted to do his hand and foot print for a 1st birthday gift. Tuesday a friend came to visit and told us that she is expecting. We are so excited for her. We started hugging and cheering and well Kypton got a little frightened so he started to cry. We couldn't be happier for them though!! Wednesday, Miss Colleen came to visit we haven't seen her since May so it was great to catch up with her. We are going to try and visit her this week to see her classroom in Newton before school starts back up! Then we went to visit Grandma at work for a bit before heading home for a nap. Thursday and Friday we just hung around the house, Dan didn't get home until about 7 or so on Friday, and Grandpa and Grandma stopped by after they went to dinner, so it was a night at home of relaxing.
Yesterday, we decided to go to the fair. We were going to wait until next weekend but the weather was so nice I didn't want to chance it getting so hot again next weekend and then not go. My parents rode with us and then my sister and Bill met up with us. They had extra tickets we are so thankful for them sharing with us. We hung out with them and ate some delicious food of course. Dan had a pork chop sandwich and a couple beers. I had a pickle with cream cheese wrapped in pastrami and deep fried (TO DIE FOR!) and then I had a 1/2lb tenderloin. Kypton had some fried bread before passing out for most of the day. All that fresh air made him sleepy. He was so good though! After the fair Kypton spent the night with Grandpa and Grandma and we went over to Dan's brothers for a cookout and fire pit. Although, I wasn't hungry Dan did eat, and we just relaxed and chatted. All in all a busy but fun last two weeks!
Hope everyone is doing well, good luck with all those going back to school this week!

PS I have some photos from the Fair but will have to add them later =)
