Last Post of 2011!!!

We made it through our first Christmas as a family of three, we enjoyed all the company, I got to meet two of my 2nd cousins that were born on October 31st, they are super sweet! We really enjoyed spending time with our family the past couple weeks!
Kypton looking at me like he loves his gifts..hehe

Opening gifts Christmas morning for him :)

Our Stockings..Dan, Tyson, Kypton, Hershie, and Hollie

Family Photo Christmas Eve before opening our PJs

WOW..What a blessed year we have had!

First I want to say that it has been such an amazing year for the Buchholz family! Here are just some of the highlights--

January- Still following Dave Ramsey paid off a lot of our debt and are now living a little better rather then spending what we didn't have :)

February- Thinking about upgrading on a house... and some ideas for change in our home now :)

March- Hershie had a safe surgery, and we found out we were expecting :)

April- was a slow month..but I know I was having a lot of morning sickness so it was probably for the best!

May- Blakely Faith joined the world on May 4th!!-- We also took a girls weekend to Cali. to see my cousin and celebrate her baby shower!

June- Well I can tell you this month was extremely busy- I went to camp for a week and it was amazing! Celebrated Dan's 26th Birthday, and there is probably something I am missing but I didn't post anything so it's hard to say :)

July- Of course the 4th of July- 1st one we have celebrated in town in the last 3 years! I was finishing up summer courses, We bought a car for Dan, Natalie Miller and Griffin Wallace join the world!

August- Did our birthing classes, painted Kypton's room

September- Mom's 50th birthday, Baby shower's, and a scare that Kypton was on his way...a little to early!

October- We demolished the bathroom, Mom and Dads anniversary, Dan and I's 2nd anniversary, New dresser, finishing Kypton's room, Brodie Burns and Maverick Opp joined the world!

November- Bathroom finished, House cleaned/organized, KYPTON ARRIVED, Kypton's first Thanksgiving!

December- Celebrated my 26th Birthday, and enjoying being home with my 1st child, Kypton's first Christmas!

It's amazing how much can be fit into one year! The blessing on birthday's, anniversaries, and the birth of healthy babies, it's all from the Lord, and he has been so gracious this past year!

This past month home has been so amazing, I'm not ready to go back, as we are still working out the details for that. We are also still waiting to here on Dan's job, we should know more by next Friday the regional manager thought anyway. I really hate the waiting game but I know in the end it will all be worth it. I have a week left of maternity leave which means I really need to think about what I want and Dan and I really need to seriously talk it over, which I think in our minds we both want me to stay home but there is the voice that really wants the extra money every month. Time is running out though tick, tock, tick, tock.... Anyway-Kypton is doing great, he is changing everyday, although I don't know how much he weighs we are up to 5 ounces every 3.5-4 hours. Last night was the first REALLY GOOD night of sleep. He went from 11-5! I can't even believe how fast he is changing and growing into a little boy instead of a baby, you will probably here me say that a lot this next year! I just love him and want to hold him all the time but I started reading a book on Healthy Sleep Habits and well I have to let him sleep in the quiet! As far as healing and energy, well I think I am back to "normal" I had my 6 week check up today and everything is back in place, although I haven't lost as much as I was hoping, I got the okay to workout again, so hopefully the last little bit will now melt away! It was good to hear that everything has healed though, I thought it was all dandy but it's always good to have piece of mind from a professional! I think that is all the news we have for everyone at this point, we hope everyone had a blessed holiday and are ready for 2012, have fun and be safe, and we will post NEXT YEAR!!

1 Month Old--Praying to Stay Home :/

Our little man is 1 Month old today :( It's exciting and we feel so blessed, on the other hand how is time going so fast? We couldn't be happier to have him in our lives, when I watch him a sleep in my arms I know what is meant by, "peace on Earth!" I know what is meant by kissing my child is kissing the Lord, I just can't even express how blessed we feel. Those of you that are parents know what I am talking about!

Here's Kypton at 1 Month-

We celebrated Kypton's first Christmas over the weekend with the Buchholz side. His cousins loved holding him and kissin' on him. It was great to see almost everyone, my sister-in-law Kasey wasn't there, her father isn't doing well so she stayed with him, prayers for her and their family are appreciated :) The girls were great, I can't believe how fast they are all growing up from the time I first met them 4 years ago to now, another thing that shows me time is flying by!

I have more photos but for some reason Blogger is being really slow tonight...

We are still waiting on final news for Dan but things are looking in the direction we were hoping so fingers crossed until Thursday at the latest :) As far as work for me I am really trying to push not going back to work. As we won't have to pay for daycare at least for the rest of this school year, I can't really use the, "all my paychecks are going towards daycare," line, and Dan thinks that we should continue to use my paychecks to build our savings, and I asked for how much longer..having extra money I guess the older I get isn't as important to me to be able to buy clothes and eat out whenever we want. I still think we should save don't get me wrong, but I feel there are other things we can get rid of or cut back on, like 1. going out to eat, 2. DirecTV, 3. Shopping sprees, the things we don't really NEED. At the same time I think if we stick to our budget we could still do/have the things we don't NEED but we will have to save for them rather than fly by the seat of our pants. I have about a week to convince him, so far I have gotten the okay to work part time, but I'm really not looking forward to missing out on him changing and growing up and not seeing it all. We will see for now I am going to say it's up in the air, I will pray that it will end up being possible but I might have a lot more cleaning and baking to do in order to convince him haha :)

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and that everyone is ready for the Holidays :)
Have a great week!

Time is Flying..

Whew, it's been a crazy year and I can't believe we are in the last month of 2011! Really? Already?   As fast as this year has gone we have so much to be thankful for and have so much to look forward to in 2012! (I don't like writing that) Our little guy is already 2 weeks old, the two weeks have been a crazy whirlwind I must say, but non the less amazing!

It's crazy how much they change on a daily/weekly basis, I have heard the time goes fast but never did I expect this fast.  Dan started back to work today, and I was not ready at all.  I really enjoyed the last two weeks with him home with us, not just for krypton's sake but it's been great having the quality time with him again without him having to worry about work.

This past weekend we actually left Kypton with my Mom and Dad for an hour and a half.  I wasn't ready but I knew I needed to spend time with Dan, and I think Dan wanted me to get away.  So, for my birthday we did some Christmas shopping and went to see Santa, dropped Kypton off with Grandpa and Grandma and then went to dinner at P.F. Chang's.  It was great to get out for a bit but now I know I will always have that little voice in the back of my head, "you have kids waiting at home."  Again, props for Dan calling my mom to arrange babysitting.

Saturday, we had friends over for dinner, we all have kids now so it was great to get them together even though Kypton is the youngest and slept most of the time.  It's great to see what we have to look forward to in a few short months but also to hear stories of what to expect and how they did things.  Blakely is 7 Months, and Griffin is 4 months, then Kypton is 2 weeks.  It's exciting to know that they will be friends growing up even though none of them will be going to the same schools.

As far as schooling and work goes for me, well I have the rest of December off (Thank God) as of day one on my own I'm understanding why people say to get some sleep! I took an Incomplete for this semester at school, and well depending on some things that we aren't making entirely public at the moment I more than likely won't be going back, and I'm okay with it! I love being with Kypton and the thought of not being the one who raises him or missing out on his first breaks my heart...so I'm not thinking about it :)

We don't have any doctors appointments this week, and Dan doesn't like the idea of me going out with Kypton alone yet, however, I said I can't be in the house for the next month, so he's going to have to work on that, we are just going to hang out, keep the laundry caught up, clean, and make sure dinner is ready when Daddy gets home :)

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful weekend, and is starting the week out on the right foot!
Stay warm!

Love,
The Buchholz 5 :)

From Kypton's blog

11/26/11- 1 week old :)

11/19/11- Kypton James- 1:09 pm 7 lbs 4 oz.

He is finally here, and a week old today! We couldn't be more blessed than we are today. We had a fast easy aka no complications delivery, and we are both healthy. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was something that can never be described. I would do it all again in a heartbeat, which could be a good or bad thing for me wanting 3 more little ones :) (after Kypton grows up a little that is). We have been home for 5 nights this being our 6th, and first we come home to a brand new house inside, the house is completely clean, the living room rearranged with a new fireplace (LOVE it!) There is a shelf above the washer and dryer with cute baskets all organized, the kitchen deep cleaned with cute decor above the cabinets, the bathroom is COMPLETE :) It looks and feels amazing! The office is clean, our room, and Kypton's room all clean, a cute door hanger that said, "It's a boy!" I cried it felt so amazing to be home, and couldn't have been more thankful for my families hard work. Being home with Kypton has shown me all over again just why I fall more in love with Dan every day. It is so true that a Man becomes a Dad when he holds his baby for the first time. He had been amazing beyond words with Kypton. They share a lot of cuddle time especially late at night and very early in the AM, and he has done the cooking and the hard cleaning. I really feel so blessed and don't know that I can ever thank the Lord enough for all he has given me. The nights haven't been too bad, the first night Kypton didn't want anything to do with his room so we took turns holding him and staying up with him, the second night was really rough for Dan as I was in a lot of pain that I had to sleep or all I could do was cry because I hurt and I couldn't hold Kypton because I was in pain, I could hardly move my arms, it was worse than being in labor I told Dan, since then it seems to get a little easier each night, a couple fussy melt downs here and there but nothing we weren't expecting. He is eating well, Tuesday when we went to the Dr. he was at 7 lbs 2 oz which is normal for babies to lose weight after birth, but Friday when we went back to the Dr. he was back to his birth weight, so we know he is eating well :) Today we took the day just to relax, all of us stayed in our PJ's and watched movies, Dan and I even got some cuddle time in while Kypton took a nap. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

11/18/11- Same day another post...

All I can do is laugh, because I know everything will work out...in it's own time. We get the call about 2:00 that they are ready for us at the hospital. Dan was at Home Depot getting some stuff for the bathroom, and I was at the mall with my mom and sister. They ask how long they think it will take for us to get there and I said we could leave right then, so we hurry home, get the last of the bags in the car, and head to the hospital. We get there check in they didn't have a room ready yet. Then when they were ready for us the lady took us to the wrong room which hand't been cleaned (that was interesting) they finally get us to the right room which instead of 3014 was suppose to be 3004. It had a great view of the capital! We get out bags sat down, the nurse gets me changed and put in the bed, hooks up the monitors and send in the RN. Then in comes the lady in charge of the floor today, and said we need you to hang tight while we talk through some things and talk with your doctor. Right then I knew, A. We were going to be asked to move to a different room, or B. That we were going to be sent home. The nurse got all my background check done and got my vitals. Back came the "Boss" with the news that they had a patient that was coming in and the baby wasn't doing well so they needed our room. They wanted to make sure that everything checked out okay with me and Kypton before sending us home so they monitored us for about 45 minutes. We are both healthy and things look great. The good news of the day, they are going to still induce us tomorrow, which they typically don't do on the weekend but I think they felt bad, so tomorrow the plan right now is to call in at 6:00 to confirm our room (like this is a nice hotel stay or something) and 7:00 we are supposed to be there to get the show started. We want to thank everyone who has been praying and thinking about us. We really do feel blessed to have a healthy baby joining the world even if we have to wait a little longer. The prayers are getting Dan and I through the stress, nerves, and excitement of everything, so again thank you! I hope this is the last post before we FINALLY get to meet our little guy.

After leaving the hospital I was hungry as I didn't have lunch because I wasn't sure if I was suppose to be eating and the nerves were kicking in so I wasn't really hungry. I have really wanted to try Zombie Burger so being that is was an odd time in the afternoon we knew they wouldn't be busy so we could go get hamburgers. (Plus the nurses said he had to take me out to eat tonight :) ) We got there and got the order to go so we could go home and let the dogs out and get back to work on the house, we get to the car and we wanted to see what our hamburgers looked like because... well they are odd hamburgers-mine had peanut butter, egg, fried banana, cheese, bacon, and hamburger on it, if that gives you an idea, well Dan opened his and thought it looked so good he would take a bite, well it was so messy he couldn't drive so we ended up having a date, right outside the restaurant eating hamburgers :) The memories we have to share with Kypton about his arrival are going to be fun at least!

9:00 PM on 11/18/11 we are sitting with the puppies watching ISU vs. OSU praying we get to meet Kypton tomorrow :) Good night!

11/18/2011- 39 weeks, 5 days- Today...or tomorrow...

Today is the day we will be induced, not if Kypton decides to come before midnight or not is really up to him :) Either way we have had a long week of waiting, after our appointment on Tuesday the doctor must have really pushed his buttons because things have been all sorts of crazy. Had contractions 4 minutes apart for two days straight, started "the show" (if you know what I mean, all you mom's reading this) amongst other "labor" symptoms. I called the hospital and because I was still able to talk during my contractions they didn't want me to come in. Basically I have been off all week thinking, today is the day...then nothing...Well today they will break my water to get things going, and being that they keep saying, "his head is sooo low," I pray it will be a quick labor/delivery, which the doctor seemed to think things looked as if they were going to go smoothly so thumbs up there! The bathroom is done for the most part, were down to little details now, it looks AMAZING, I couldn't be more thankful for my family for helping. We (the girls) got the kitchen all arranged and deep cleaned, just waiting to do the floors and the outside of the cabinets once the guys are completely out. They worked on the crown molding and base last night, but it's not complete, I may have to do some painting when Im off the next 7 weeks but I'm okay with that. The office is almost organized again, the stuff that goes into the vanity is still in there and I need to hang a few things (while I'm off) but the shelves have been cleaned/dusted and put in order. All thats left in there is dusting off the desk/computer and vacuum :) Jenna stayed and help dust off the electronics in the living room after we came home last night, so once they have all the tools moved out they carpets needs some spots cleaned, vacuum, and the house should be in order! We are still waiting on the call from the hospital, they had two ladies walk in this morning and then one who was scheduled before me, so they said as soon as they have a bed they will call us! Until then, relax and do some cleaning :) The next post will be to update you on Kypton's arrival :)

11/15/2011- 39 weeks, 2 days... WE WILL HAVE A BABY BY FRIDAY :)

We are dilated to 3 and still 75% effaced. So we made a little progress however, they said if he hasn't arrived by Friday we will be induced on Friday :) This at least gives us some of a timeline on when the bathroom needs to be finished. It's getting very close, they got the stool set last night, the tile will be finished (we had to replace a piece) tonight, we got the vanity light up so all lights are working :) the shower is working but we still need a piece in order to take a bath, which isn't a need in order to make the bathroom useable. Tonight will be about touch ups, getting the vanity set, maybe the countertop, and sink ready to install. My mom and I got the office somewhat organized last night so that all we have to do is put it in the bathroom once its time (that's the room we used for our storage while the bathroom was being worked on. The kitchen had the guys' tools in it so as soon as they are done with the tools and get those moved out we are ready to clean...that's one good thing about a tiny kitchen.. not much to clean :) I feel a lot better knowing that we have a timeline, yes he could come before then, but at this point in time I don't think that is going to happen, and I have an idea when we will be back in our house :) Other than that were still pushing along with school work, I did take a day off yesterday as I wasn't feeling so well, but I am back to work today. Only 2 days after today until 8 weeks with my little one (Ahh, I can't wait to hold him) We will try to keep everyone updated via text and some Facebook of course. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

11/08/2011- 38 weeks, 4 days...10:20 AM appointment...NO CHANGE :(

Well there was no change at the doctor. We see a different doctor each time in the practice of 8, this time our doctor happened but be from Sumner which is where Dan's brother's family lives. Small world to say the least. She went to go do the check like always and the first thing that came out was, "wow, his head is right there." Yep thats 3 weeks in a row now that they have said his head is right there. She seemed to think that was a great thing and said it was probably going to be an easy delivery so that was nice to hear even if we haven't dilated any more. So we are still at 2cm and 75% effaced. I would say though I have had a lot more contractions lately now if they could just get stronger and be consistant we would be set. I did think it was strange that when she was measuring me she said, "wow, that's a big contraction." Mind you, I didn't feel it at all. I have a high pain tolerance so I just hope I know when I actually go into labor!! For the house, all the tile is officially laid and we have to wait 24 hours before we grout, so tomorrow the grout will be done :) woo hoo, we are getting so close! It looks awesome, I can't thank my brother, dad, and Dan enough for all their hard work on the whole project. I am so thankful and blessed to have such great men in my life. On the flip side though I have some great ladies as well, from my sister to my mom and my brothers girlfriend for all their help either making dinner and running it to the guys, helping get things set up in Kypton's room, running errands with me to get stuff...everyone has been so helpful, no words can express how thankful Dan and I are. For now the count down is on to get the bathroom finished, finish my mom and dad's nursery, and clean...and most of all wait for Kypton to arrive, I have the most bets on this weekend...we shall see :) We will keep you all posted :)

11/07/2011-38 weeks--Appointment tomorrow morning :)

Well we got a lot done over the weekend since the last post actually! The drywall and sanding is complete, texture is done, kilz is done, and the painting in the bathroom is also complete. Tile started on Sunday midmorning and is looking great so far, shower is about a quarter of the way but the hard parts like around the window and the faucet area are done :) I love the way it looks so far, my brother is doing a great job! Kypton's room is complete minus his little night stand that my brother is going to finish painting for us. His bed is made and the changing table is stocked full of supplies and the monitor is up, we got the lamps up and ready, the only things left I can think of but can't do yet, are hang newborn photos, and little wall things, I'm happy that his room is ready for him :) Our bedroom is set up and cleaned, bedding cleaned, and thanks to my mom all the laundry is caught up :) We got a lot done this weekend even though if you walk into the house you probably wouldn't think so, however, nobody saw it this past month so to everyone else is looks like a disaster haha. Tonight since we are trying to stay out of the way of the guys doing the tile and the hallway is busy with them going back and forth to the saw we are going to work more on Grandpa and Grandma's nursery. Jenna (my brothers girlfriend for those of you who don't know her, she was in my wedding so most of you that read this do know who she is) helped my mom paint the Alphabet letters she bought and put the magnetic paint on the wall. We cleaned out the room a little on Saturday it was full of everyone's stuff from when my sister and I moved to things that we weren't sure what we wanted to do with yet, most of it got pitched :) So, tonight we are going to paint the room and then it will be ready for furniture and hanging the stuff my mom bought on the walls. It's going to be super cute! Other than that my bags are officially packed for the hospital, I showed Dan where there is a few things in the bathroom I need incase he has to come home before we go to the hospital to grab the bags. Being that each of my jobs is 20 minutes from home and I don't want to drive to the hospital alone we haven't figured out how exactly that is going to work yet if I don't go into labor at night. I should probably install the carseat tonight but I wanted to vacuum Dan's car out first since the dogs were in there last week. As far as Kypton and I we are still doing well, he is still moving like crazy which either means he's going to be little since he has a lot of room in there, or I got big enough to give him enough room :) Either way we are feeling pretty good, I don't sleep as well since my back hurts, and I have terrible night allergies for some reason, plus everytime I switch positions I have to wake up and I usually have a contraction, not to mention the getting up to pee issue :) I feel we have been really blessed with this pregnancy, I'm praying the delivery goes just as well. I will update after our appointment tomorrow! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fall weather before winter hits :) I can't wait for the Holidays though :)

11/02/2011- 17 days at most... dilated to 2 and 75% effaced...

Had our 37 week appointment today, with great news. She was shocked at how low his head was. My cervix is behind his head being that he is down so far. All she kept saying was, "wow, his head is so low, have you had a lot of pressure?" Ummm, yeah half the time I feel like when I stand up he's going to fall right out. It's all good though, still going strong, finished up getting stuff for my hospital bag tonight, got Kypton's chair for his room (reading corner!) Hmm.. what else have we been up too? Well the bathroom is a little behind schedule, but it's getting there..My cousin's husband came to help my Dad with the electrical tonight and got that finished so we officially have new lighting and a FAN! They got the last of the drywall hung tonight and taped. Tomorrow they will clean out the dust, wipe down the walls and get ready to texturize the walls and ceiling. Hopefully that means by early Saturday morning the tiling will begin. I will be in class all day (Joy) so the guys will be working, my mom was going to start working on cleaning up the kitchen...the whole house is ready for a deep clean now that all the sanding is done :(

10/24/2011-HAPPY 2 YEARS TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND--Yesterday :)

Although, we didn't really celebrate our anniversary with more than a Happy Anniversary and a kiss, we know that we are getting a lot done and once we are finished with the house and Kypton is here we can celebrate. Kypton's room is pretty much done, a few minor things to put on the wall but the major stuff is complete, the changing table is in, crib in, curtains made (photos to come soon), the rest of his bedding should be here this week so we can get his bed made for him. The last thing I think i am going to buy for his room right now is a lamp, and then I believe his room is set...for now :) As far as the bathroom, we now have walls :) they built the frame for the closet area they tore out that is now a wall the final drywall will go up tonight and let the taping/mudding/sanding begin :) They also got the new tub yesterday and it is in place. We picked out the tile for the bathtub surround that we are going to use instead of the plastic surrounds, my brother refinished the vanity that we purchased (looks amazing) I know there is still a lot they have to do until it is finished but to see the progress is awesome, I was hoping by the end of this week they would be done, but I would say probably more like the first weekend of November since we had some setbacks but I'm happy with how things are going. Our house is like a complete warzone so I hope to get started on that this week, the laundry is pretty much caught up as I'm living out of a suitcase (a blessing in disguise I think) and our new dresser will be here on Friday :) woo hoo for a dresser finally after living in our house for 2 years and making due with what we had! I feel like I didn't get much accomplished this weekend because I had class all day on Saturday but I know we are getting close and everything is going to work out and get done to where it needs to be :) Oh yes, I can't forget, I got the stockings ordered, they were free monogram/shipping this weekend plus they were already on sale (thank you Pottery Barn) so the dogs and Kypton all will have their stockings here for the holidays :) Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm loving this warm fall weather :)

10/18/2011- 35 weeks with 33 days to go :)

Things are moving right along in the house, we are to the plumbing and electrical tonight. Mostly the electrical and I am looking for a plumber so if you have a name for me let me know!! Other than that once those two things are complete we are on to hanging up the drywall and laying the durock, and it should all be down hill from there. Kypton's room is getting so so so close :) This past weekend we had a hard time finding what we wanted at Homemakers. Dan and I went and looked around there when we bought the crib and found the pieces we wanted, my mom and I went back this week since the floors and everything in his room were finished and we were 0 for 3 on our items. They were all sold out. We went to Wal-Mart to get some fabric and thought we would look there for a shag rug and what do you know they had a perfectly matching red shag rug for his room and it was $20 cheaper! We also go some baby hangers to hang some clothes, which I just finished his first load of laundry last night, so precious how small they are, Dan had this big grin on his face when he pulled Kypton's jeans out of the washer to put in the dryer...they are so little..ahh I can't wait to meet him. So the crib is in, we picked up his changing table that I found off Craig's list for $20 in great condition, the rug is down, his dresser is in the closet and his clothes are hung, put in his drawers, or waiting to be washed :) Now to get all the stuff from my sister's house to be put into place. I feel like we have gotten so much done but yet there is still so much to do and only 34 days! Yikes! We can do it! The best part is, I know at the end of November Kypton will be here, I will be done with classes the last week of November and I will be on maternity leave...all I have to focus on now is getting through these next couple weeks :)

10/11/2011- Happy Anniversary to my parents :)

We had our 34 week appointment on Monday...it's kind of nice to know that we don't have to go back for two weeks now. I was still measuring at 33 weeks but she said that wasn't a big concern, that some people hit a wall and will grow a lot slower now, I'm okay with that as long as she thinks he is healthy. His heartrate was at 150 so he was nice an active..as always :) Kypton's room is getting so close I just need to find that last umph..to push me over the edge this week, we have some touch ups on the crown molding. We got the crib however it's sitting in the living room for now, so that needs to go in the room. We are still working on if we want a changing table or just a dresser with a changing pad on top...Dan wont let me travel to Ikea to get what I want so I guess that means I can spend what I want on things here...or so he says...until he sees the price difference. We found closet doors for Kypton's room on Craig's list for $30 still in the box and exactly what we wanted, the lady bought the wrong size, so we saved $30 because the store was selling them for $60. We have become the little bargin shoppers if I do say so myself. But as soon as that is all set up we are done with his room. I guess we are still waiting on bedding, we got the fabric so we can make the curtains, I keep thinking we are so close then I remember something else.

Bathroom: We aka Dan and my Dad officially started demo on our bathroom, probably by this weekend everything will be torn out. The floor had 5 different layers of flooring, the people just added more and more over the top instead of taking out the old first...crazy! I added some photos to our flikr account if you want to check them out there is a link on FB or on the previous post as well. It's strange how much of a mess the house is right now but how at home if feels when I walk in. It's finally going to be ours, how we want it, with quality and love put in, rather than someone looking for a quick buck. We are at my parents house for the time being so hopefully I can help my mom get her nursery ready to go.

I'm done with my first class tonight, well I will still have my final project due next week but I'm sitting at a 96% so I hope I can keep it there. It will feel good to be done with this class, and know I only have another month (the end of November) until I am finished with this semester. So far so good!

40 days and counting :)

10/06/2011- RIP Steve Jobs-1955-2011..34 weeks tomorrow :)

One amazing/inspiring man has passed away, Steve Jobs! It wasn't until college that I found my love of Apple products as well as the company that I chose to buy stock in. Ever since I have been more than happy spending money in their store on their products and I even got my family hooked on Apple. I like the saying, "Once you go Mac, You never go back!" Thank you Steve Jobs for all your hard work and for changing the way a lot of people look at and use technology. Although, Kypton wont know this CEO like we all got to expierence I am sure that those following in his footsteps wont let us down.

As far as our appointment from Monday, everything checked out okay, they said I'm still dialated to about 1-1.5 but no changes, and the cervix is still holding so they were happy with that. No trace of infection anymore, as they think that may have been part of why I was having contractions! Thanks for all the prayers we really appriciate them! Kypton is measuring right at 33 weeks so we are happy with that, I still hope he goes a little early just so we don't have to spend out first Thanksgiving as a family in the hospital :)

The base has been put on in his room, we are doing the final coat on that tonight, we pick up the crib tonight and his bedding shipped yesterday (hopefully it will be here by this weekend!) Things are coming together, and now we are on to the next challenge...demolishing the bathroom! We could use any help so if you are free this weekend or the next couple weeks feel free to stop by..I pay in beer and food :) Other than that my mom and I are going to start deep cleaning the whole house and getting everything organized so that come November we aren't in a complete panic. Classes will be done the last weekend of November so I am hoping to get all of my assignements done and handed in my mid November so if I go a little early I wont have to worry too much about school work. Other than that we are staying busy with the dogs and being at my parents house, poor Dan isn't sleeping well because I don't sleep well. He has been awesome, giving me back rubs until I can fall asleep. I couldn't ask for a greater man right now :) Hope everyone is doing well, holidays are right around the corner...who's ready?

PS-I will add photos to Flikr of the finished floor and molding tonight :)

09/27/11- 32 weeks, 4 days...and an eventful Monday...

If you get nauseous easily, you might not want to read this post :)

I went in for my 32 week appointment, hoping they would move my due date up a few days, and to my suprise she had some questions about my urine, they found some blood, and something else I can't remember, so she asked if I thought I had a bladder infection, and well I've never had one, but things hadn't been feeling any different down there other than a little more pressure which I assumed was from Kypton moving to the head down position. She said since I didn't think I had a bladder infection she wanted to check my cervix to see what it felt like, she checked and immediately took her glove off and said she was going to send me down to the hospital to check my contractions. Huh?!? I haven't had any contractions, I've had some Braxton Hicks but that is normal for the 3rd trimester...or so I thought they were Braxton Hicks (I really think they should have a better way of explaining the difference especially to a first time mom). Of course I started freaking out thinking there is no way he is ready to come he too small, and she informed me that if he decided to come now he would be in intensive care for at least a month, wasn't that nice of her to tell me that?!? UM NO THANKS! I would have rather known more medical things that could be going on and how they could treat it rather than well if he comes this is what will happen. Either way she said she might put me on bedrest until 36 weeks, give me some medication to help stop the contractions for now, or depending on my results just have me come back next week. So, we get to the hospital and thank GOD I wasn't in labor because if I had to answer all those questions at that time I would have been one mean lady. I mean all I wanted was to get hooked up and find out the results, they tracted my contractions for a long while, looked at my cervix to see how long it was, and did another US to check on Kypton. My Cervix seems to be thining but not as much as they originally thought, so that's a good thing, I'm dilated between 1-1.5, and Kypton is weighing in at about 4 lbs, 6 oz right now, which my brother was born at 4.12 and didn't have any problems, however, we are still praying to make it at least to 36 weeks to be full term. She ended up not putting me on bedrest which I think I would go crazy if she did! No medications either, she just said track your contractions, and gave me steps to take to slow contractions/when to call in about the contractions, I go back next Monday for another check up which I'm guessing I will end up going every week now instead of the every 2. Other than that, my nurse was very nice, Dan did an awesome job, it was a good practice run I would say, my mom and sister did great, they were there and carried on the conversation without getting me worked up, it was a long day being I slept like crap the night before with about 3 hours of sleep, then all the emotion of praying Kypton was okay--P.S. He was still a stinker during the US he really doesn't want us to see his face, but we can see he has Dan's nose :) Needless to say after the hospital visit, going to the store with my mom, going home, doing homework, and eating dinner I was one tired lady, and ready for bed. We ask for prayers to make it to full term without anymore scares! I guess he just can't help he's excited to come out and meet everyone :)

09/24/11- 32 weeks, 1 day! 8 weeks or 56 days to go :)

So, to start the day, I have class, where I am actually writing this post, and it wasn't at the normal site today it's at another location. Which this is all fine and dandy however, I drove around West Des Moines for 2 HOURS before I found the stupid place. Needless to say I wasn't a very happy pregnant lady this morning, and to add to it, I am out of Diet Coke :( It's been a rough morning and I am ready to go home! Buuuttt, I still have an hour and 15 minutes until that is possible. As far as the pregnancy is going, this past week and a half I have been super tired, and Braxton Hicks are kicking my butt! At the same time, it is reminding me to practice my breathing. I am guessing I am going to go a week early...or maybe I'm just wishful thinking, but I go back to the Doc on Monday, so we will see what she says, I really feel he is sitting really low and all the changes are a good sign, so I pray we make it to full term and then he will make his appearance :) Now as far as home projects, as I am sitting in class Dan sent me a photo of the floors sanded down :) We were going to start on the bathroom this weekend but I really wanted to get Kypton's room finished before we started another project. Being that we have all of his baby stuff stored in either the office at our house or my sister's spare bedroom at her house. I would like to have everything in place for him before we tear our bathroom out and we are at my parent's house until it's finished :) So, we are making strides in his room and it should be done hopefully by tomorrow. The crib has been ordered but it hasn't come in yet so hopefully in the next couple weeks. I haven't decided if I want to make our changing table or just buy one, baby experts say that it's a waste of money to just buy a changing table, and I was more interested in spending money on a BOB stroller than on a changing table :) Ahh, the joys of using cash only, I would be in a lot of trouble if we had a credit card at this point...Kypton's room would be all decked out already haha :) Here is the link for the flickr photo's of his room, looked for the finished photos in the next week..without furniture that is, I will be sure to keep the photos updated as furniture and decor goes up :) I'm so excited to meet our little guy, were taking bets on who he will look like, mine are all on Dan :)

09/20/11- 31 weeks- 9 WEEKS TO GO...down to single digit weeks!

Were to 31 weeks, had my first shower this past weekend. My sister and mom put it on, it was sports themed and super cute. I have some photos so you will have to check them out at our flickr site :) I will put the link below. I put my 31 week photo on Facebook so if you want to see the belly you can check that out. I am still up in the air as to where/if/when I want to do maternity photos, within the next month we will need to do them so if someone has a recommendation for that I'm all ears. As far as everything else, we are just crazy busy with life, as I'm sure all of you are as well. I keep thinking it's going to slow down but more and more things just keep coming up, I have class all day this Saturday so that takes up most of the weekend, then the following weekend we are going to Central's homecoming (which brings us to October) Crazzzzyyy!! The next weekend back to class, the weekend of the 15th we have our couples shower with friends, then class again on the 22nd, and the weekend of October 29th we officially have nothing on the calendar...as of yet. However, my cousin will be having her baby October 31st and I'm sure there will be halloween parties :) because I want to have one lol :) Then we are to November :) Holy Moly, I feel like Kypton is still so far away but yet when I look at everything that we have to do/need to do before his arrival I get all flustered/excited. I can't decide which is harder planning for a wedding or planning for a baby..I mean really this kid is stuck with us for the rest of his life and I'm starting to freak out... like what if I say or do the wrong thing and it ruins the poor kid...Ahhh Trust in the Lord with all your heart....that's all we can do, he picked us for a reason :) Okay enough rambling for tonight, I best get back to class, and maybe pay a little attention :)

09/10/11- First I love the date, second-Happy 50th to my mom/soon to be Grandma the big 5-0 tomorrow, and third...30 weeks!!

So we are at 30 weeks, 10 weeks and counting. Let me just say I am ready for this pregnancy to be over! I wouldn't say I hate being pregnant but I wouldn't say I love it either. I am so excited and feel blessed to have Kypton coming into our lives, however, I'm ready to get back to working out and get rid of this extra weight. I would say I think I have had more mental breakdowns in the last couple weeks then I have my whole life over the weight. I don't like the weight at all. I know some of you think I'm being selfish but I'm not. I eat when I'm hungry and a wide variety of foods, and I don't eat if I'm not hungry. For those who have never been pregnant they don't know how it feels. I have worked hard to stay in shape my entire life, and now that I really can't workout without my heart rate going above what the doctor recommends I am losing it. Walking just doesn't do it for me. So needless to say I am ready for these next 10 weeks to fly by. I thought I couldn't wait to be pregnant and now that I am, I'm ready to be done. It's great when people tell you that you look great, pretty, and beautiful, but let's just say when you don't feel that way and when the one person you want to hear it from can't stand to look at you the dream of "I can't wait to be pregnant," quickly changes. I'm not here to sugar coat my life, I'm here to tell it how it is, and if you are offended I'm sorry, don't read this. As my cousin said, "I can blame my hormones for the anger." At this point if you don't want the truth don't ask me my opinion just to warn you.

I can tell you for all those out there trying to get pregnant, who are pregnant, or someday will be pregnant, you need support from friends and family! Although, even some of them won't think before they speak and will say things you really wish you could punch them for. They wouldn't say it to a non pregnant lady why would you think a pregnant lady would want to hear it, right? Ladies your partner no matter what will NEVER understand what you are going through, and some of them could give to flicks what you are feeling and going through, because as far as they feel they had nothing to do with this! Some men won't think you are attractive, they won't want to touch your stomach, and won't want to feel the baby kick, so don't think all men do that! Strength and a lot of prayer is what you will need! I'm not trying to say I haven't had a very blessed pregnancy, and that it's all been bad, I think the insomnia is partially to blame with the mix of hormones but I think its almost like having too much to drink...the truth comes out. Blogging is probably the best outlet for me, especially because Facebook everyone sees your status, where as blogging the person has to want to read it.

Kypton's room is at a stand still..the floor and base are all we have left however, I was hoping it would be done before my first shower next weekend...doesn't seem to be the case and I'm sick of asking for help so if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done, yes, I'm actually to that point with asking people for help :) I have enough on my plate and I can't help with the floor anyway. With three classes a week soon to be four, I have more than enough between that, homework, and 2 jobs to keep me busy until Kypton gets here. Because once he is here I know that is the only thing I am going to want to do..hold him and spend time with him! Hope everyone has a great weekend go Iowa! Thanks for those who have served our nation!!

Song of the day..which God knew where my heart was and it was the first song that came on my Pandora when I got up.. More Beautiful You..Heres a link-- http://youtu.be/XNqQUojBg84 enjoy!

09/02/2011-

We have officially graduated our birthing class... now to convince Dan he should practice giving me a backrub every night to keep me relaxed will be the hard part ;) We got a tour of the hospital and saw a brand new baby while we were there, like they were literally just wheeling him in to do a check over, the Dad was smiling ear to ear it was so precious! Is it just me or does this week seem to be the longest week ever? I can't even say it's because I'm excited for the weekend because we aren't really doing anything, maybe working on the house and doing homework if I get to it. On a sad note, my great Grandma passed away today which would have been Kypton's Great Great Grandma at the age of 91. She was having heart failure for a while now, and got to a point last night that she was in so much pain they put her on morphine and she didn't really know who people were, and lost her grip. Luckily, last weekend my Mom called and said your Great Grandma would really like to see you while your pregnant, and I was reluctant to go I will say as I don't do well in hospitals or with death, however, we took Sunday afternoon and went down. It was good to see her even though she could hardly speak, she felt Kypton and I got to see her one last time. This time I don't actually remember saying, "I'll see you later." Which I always have in the past, either because I was praying she would get better or because I wanted her to keep a positive mind to hopefully fight through everything, which most of the time she did. It must have been a sign from God that he was calling her home this week. Literally this morning from the time I spoke with my mom at 8:10 and got to work at 8:30, my sister called around 8:50 and said she had passed. She has been asking to go see my Great Grandpa now for a while, and he passed away when I was in 1st grade, so I am so thankful she is finally getting to see him. She had the heart and faith that everyone should strive to have, she will be missed but we still have all of the stories including how her and Grandpa got the names Grandpa and Grandma Shake Shake, because their last name was actually Smith. We love you Grandma and I know you are telling Grandpa about everything that is going on! The week started on a high with passing my test and I wouldn't say this is a low with Grandma passing because she is no longer in pain and is with grandpa, but it's also not the ideal ending for the week either. Love those that are here, you never know when you will see them again! I hope everyone has a safe 3-day weekend, or 2 if your like Dan and work on Saturday!

8/30/2011- PASSED THE GLUCOSE TEST!!

I had my 28 week appointment on Monday, I did the glucose test and for most of you, you can remember how nasty the drink was. I actually didn't think it tasted that bad. I did the fruit punch, which really reminded me of Hawaiian Punch x10. It made me a little nauseated I think only because you can't eat anything two hours before and because my appointment was in the morning it made it hard to go from dinner until lunch the following day. Either way we passed and Kypton and Mom are growing the way we are supposed to. I am actually up from my start 21 pounds, and measuring right on with 28 weeks :) I was actually freaking out as I noticed some of my maternity clothes were fitting a little tight (which shouldn't happen I don't feel like.) Then I went to the dryer to look at what Dan had dried our clothes on...and for sure there it was high heat! So, I guess it wasn't enough for me to have a breakdown at the mall last Friday when I couldn't find any clothes that I really cared for or that I thought would fit, that he then shrinks what clothes I do have I know I know I am giving him a hard time. He was actually trying to be really sweet. I had fallen asleep and he knew I needed those clothes for Monday so instead of him waking me up he finished up the laundry. It's all good I squeezed into them, and now I got them all stretched out again haha. As far as Kypton's room, we are well on our way to finishing. The crown molding is up and most of the carpet is torn up. The goal is to get the rest up and start sanding hopefully this week. As my mom would say we only have a few months to go and we need to get the bathroom done, so if it takes us 30 days for the bathroom thats almost half our time! Hopefully we will have some final photos with the floors done, base done, and closet doors up for you in the next week or two. Hope you are all having a good week, were almost halfway to the holiday weekend!! :)

08/23/2011-FINAL TRIMESTER!!

Time seems to be passing us by, with so much to do! This past weekend we went and stayed with one of Dan's brothers in Sumner. It's always great to spend time with their family, 3 beautiful, smart, and fun girls! They gave us a little tour of Fayette which is where Dan grew up, it has changed a lot since the last time we were there. Sunday we did a little shopping at the outlet mall and came home, we bought some great things on sale for Kypton with the end of season sale! It was a great weekend to get away for a bit but getting back into school routines this week has been nice. I started working my new hours for my dad 7:30-10:30, Adventuretime from 11-5:00. Originally it was going to be 11:30-6:00 so I have to say knowing I will be off at 5 is awesome :) Changes with me, well my rings no longer fit which was a hard day, still looking for one to wear but I haven't found one I just love :( I know some of you have been asking about photos..well we haven't taken any to be honest. I know some people think we are going to regret it so I will try my hardest this last trimester to take some :) We didn't do anymore work on Kypton's room this week however, this weekend the crown molding will be going up, and hopefully the following weekend we will do the floors :) I'm ready for the room to be done :) Hope everyone is having a great week :)

08/11/2011- 26 WEEKS

Holy Moly time is flying by! The past week and a half have been crazy! We started birthing classes. Dan said the first night, "I don't really need to know about mucus sacs." Mind you it's a mucus plug LOL. Needless to say the first night was of no interest to him. We got most of Kypton's room painted last weekend, and my mom and I got the Argyle wall started while Dan finished it today on his day off minus the small detail of the dots that will go through them...hopefully we can get that finished this weekend with the crown molding :) Either way it looks great right now :( check out some of the photos here (more to come as we finish up) http://flic.kr/s/aHsjvLYwZq . As for this week we went out to eat and Dan and I both ended up with food poisoning so that set us back one night. It was probably a sign from God to step back and relax and enjoy this time together instead of putting all our energy into getting the house ready. We are both feeling better and back at it. This weekend we are having a garage sale to get rid of stuff I had stored at my parents as well as stuff we no longer need in our house, hopefully to bring in a little cash for some fun :0. I also said I would get back to you about why I transferred schools. I am going to be working for Adventuretime/Urbandale Schools 4 year old program from 11:30-6:00 so all of my classes will be done at night online :) Which means when Kypton arrives I will still have a steady income as compared to when I was at Grand View in class all day and we were living off Dan for the most part. I will work for my Dad in the morning which Kypton can come with me for a while, then my grandma will watch him from 11:00-3:00 and my mom will watch him from 3:00 until either Dan or I get off at 5:30/6. It's great knowing he will be in good hands and I won’t have to worry about him with and in home sitter just yet :) So either way I'm excited for this new school year, and for the opportunities that God has provided us! Hope everyone is doing well and for those of you teaching/going back to school in a couple weeks good luck on the New Year!

07/29/2011- 24 WEEKS

Only 16 weeks left to go!! :) I so can't wait for our little guy to be here! Today is my last day in class for the summer woohoo! We had our first issue with Dan's car...just a minor one, the wipers came on and wouldn't turn off. The module I guess had burnt out, well we got it replaced and didn't have to pay for it. Saved $500 for our pocket! (Praise the Lord). Starting to work on Kypton's room...FINALLY :) Got most of it cleaned out minus some small things that are going in the garage sale next weekend. It's going to be a busy weekend. These last few months are going to fly by especially since school starts in a few short weeks :) I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

07/26/2011-

Yeah!! Dan FINALLY got a "new" car! If any of you know Dan you know that he has been very greatful for the cars he has driven but as his wife there was nothing more exciting last night than seeing him purchase a car he could call his own :) We were worried about putting Kypton in his 91' Celica in which his trunk had rusted off so there was no opening it once we put it back on, the seats are very hard to move forward and being that we need to get a carseat in the back that was going to be difficult, and as far as me driving it, well there was no chance. While it has been a great car for Dan to get to and from work the past 3 years, it will be nice to have two vehicles that we can both drive :) and not have to worry about Kypton being safe or not. :) It was a wonderful night to say the least I'm very excitied for Dan and Dan was very excited to take this step! On another wonderful note, Kypton's fabric swatches for his room arrived!! Yeah!!! Now I can match the paint which believe it or not the colors we have throughout the house already match PERFECT to the fabric the only color we have left to get that we haven't used yet is the blue, which we are also planning to use in the bathroom and kitchen so it all works perfectly! Tonight Grandma aka my mom is coming to help me get things sorted and vaccumed sealed (clothes I wont wear until next summer) and put into storage so we can get ready to paint this weekend. It all worked out so perfectly, I will be done with both of my classes come Friday and can then focus everything on the house until the last week of August for the most part! God is working so amazingly in our lives. This past Sunday the message at church talked about letting God run the show and allowing the detours he has planned for us, and I believe this summer we are living proof with the baby coming, changing schools, and new job oppertunities, I can't even begin to thank him enough for all the detours and for opening out hearts!!

07/22/2011-

Well life is a bit crazy as most of you can imagine, I'm taking two summer classes, working for the school as well as my Dad, and Dan and I (with the help of my family) are fixing up/getting the house ready for Kypton :) Busy but eventful/fun summer! As of right now I'm in the process of changing schools, from Grand View to William Penn, which more about why will come in a couple weeks. Dan is still with Wells Fargo and doing really well at his branch. The office is offically done (minus decour) and ready for Kypton to learn that it's a "quite room" for reading and studying :) We will start birthing classes on August 3rd, I can't even believe that August is just a week away...(5 Months until Christmas!!) Baby Kypton is doing well, as people say I am getting bigger everyday...I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. He is very active during the day, and sometimes very early in the morning aka 4:00 AM. For the most part he starts about 7:00 AM and goes to about 9:30 PM, hopefully this is a really good sign of how he will be when he gets here. His favorite food right now (as well as mine) is pizza and freeze pops :) Hope everyone is doing great, I hope to keep you all updated as time goes by and we get closer to the end :)

14 Weeks

Awe, to be in the second trimester...yeah not much has changed! Morning sickness....yep still there...feeling like I've had a bad hangover for the last 3 months...yep still here :) It's all for a good cause so I complain while it's happening and then I'm good for the rest of the day. We did hear the heartbeat the day I left for Cali...155-160..no photos though :( 20 weeks hurry up!!

Our trip to Cali was AMAZING!! I wish it was longer but it was a great break and I loved seeing everyone and celebrating with my cousin. The weather may not have been ideal but who can complain when you see the scenery out there, it was beautiful! We got to do so much...pictures to come! We went down and saw the Del Coronado island/hotel...also close to where my cousin got engaged! It was a beautiful view...again images to come...this is a little photo of the hotel as well... we drove and saw where the Marines train, and also we were in the area of which Top Gun was filmed, and later that day we learned it was actually the "25 Anniversary" of the release of the movie, so they were having big events. Pretty cool to be there that same day!

Then we took a rest and went to dinner that night to this insanely beautiful Mexican restaurant...I wouldn't say the food was my favorite the the atmosphere was to die for. The seating was all outside, with lights (like the movies), a nice little quiet waterfall right when you walk in, it really was like something you would see in movie when a couple goes out to dinner...I heard the drinks were really good too ;)

Saturday was the shower, we were all very excited, we picked up our gifts when we got there I found this really fun book set, with was call Tickle Monster that came with the book and some furry blue mits that had holes in the fingers to tickle with...the shower was beautiful...outdoor looking over the Del Mar Race Track (Horse Racing). The shower was so nice, the weather was perfect, they took us in a limo van so we all got to talk on the way there and back, the servers were so nice, and the food was delicious. We had a BBQ at my cousins for dinner, and I have to mention the cupcakes..however, I didn't get a photo...they were the biggest cupcakes ever and we heard about them for about two days, about how great they were, and they were great! I would recommend them however, they are in Cali so I don't think they would ship too well :)

Sunday, we did a morning brunch and then headed to some wineries with one of my other cousins that also lives in San Diego along with his girlfriend. I got some shots of the wineries, they were beautiful and some of the wine smelled delicious, they did wine tasting I just walked around and looked in the shops and enjoyed the atmosphere...I would go back for some tasting I think, it was a fun day. Then we headed to Poseidon down on the beach for dinner. It was a wonderful view, a lovely sunset, and the food was nice. We did notice that PDA was something people enjoyed to do there, while at dinner, people sat on each others laps, kissed, it was just different then you would see here in Iowa that is for sure.

Monday, our last day :( We went to In-and-Out burger..if you ever go to Cali YOU MUST HAVE THIS. You also must look online for the hidden menu, otherwise you only have 3 choices. I had a single, animal style, prob. my favorite meal the whole time :) Then we headed for some shopping with my cousin, we went to a GREAT mall, however, it was a little depressing knowing I couldn't buy anything in Juicy or Betsey Johnson, because well in another month it wont fit! I did however get some things at A Pea in the Pod... not my ideal store however, I will be comfortable and still look like I'm wearing normal clothing...The prices I think are a little insane, and I was freaking out a little, okay maybe a lot, but I am very thankful for shirts that are long enough, and pants that I don't have to use a hair tie on :)

Now I'm back to reality...boooo...but have so much to look forward to this summer, weddings, birthdays, camps, Dr. appointments...so I suppose it's not all bad...

"Leaving on a Jet Plane...Tomorrow"

Happy HUMPday everyone!!

Well, we went from Monday and Tuesday being brutally HOT, and I don't say that very often because I love summer however, my hands and feet were swollen and red, and that only happens usually when it's super hot and I just did a long workout! (The things I get from my Mother ;) )... now today it's probably around 70 and raining....nice cool off, however, the school I work at, yeah, their air isn't working!!

Either way, IT'S WEDNESDAY!!! We leave tomorrow! We as in my mom, sister, aunt, and cousin. Can you tell I'm a bit excited? Baby shower, the coastal weather, family....what's not to be excited for?

In preparing to leave we got our nails done, it was a Mothers Day gift for my mom, and my sister and I joined in the fun. I got a dark blue or what I like to call it myself Ocean Blue! While my mom and sister stuck with natural and French, I told them they were being boring!

Check them out, however, disregard the ghostliness of my skin (that's going to change this weekend!):

Tomorrow can't come soon enough, I have packing to do tonight, I need to get caught up on my TV shows, and then I remind myself um...it's kind of hard to pack when all of your clothes are dirty!!....so I guess that means I have to do laundry too....ahh I need a maid...Speaking of maids though, I got a big burst of energy yesterday before work and cleaned the living room top to bottom, Dan was pretty shocked when he got home for lunch :) high five to me! Either way I have a lot to do tonight before I can pack, I want to be ready before I leave tomorrow morning to see my Bestie and Blakely :)

Now back to the heat issue, some of you may know our house is older, well we don't have air. Our windows are too small besides the kitchen window which we have a unit in, and the office window is too big...so the kitchen stays cool but it doesn't cool the rest of the house. We are really thinking of putting in central air, we figure it will be better for resale value anyway, so if anyone has a name or a company they work with they really liked we are all ears!

Stay tuned, for some great photos tomorrow of the one week and one day old Blakely and some other exciting things ;)

12 weeks 3 Days :)

We can offically post that we are expecting, and that baby B is in the clear from the first trimester, however, by the time you read this post we will have had our first ultrasound and have that posted... so you will know that we are expecting :) Please read the other ones I have posted (all today)...just a little story of what's been going on :)

11/20/11

we are very excited about all of this, we are are going to be very busy come fall with me still being in school, however, God got us here so he will get us through :) We couldn't be more blessed to have family and friends so close and that offer so much support! Thanks to everyone that knew we were expecting during the first trimester and keeping it as quiet as possible, not one slip on Facebook, I feel like that is a major accomplishment!! :) We are excited about the new journey and can't wait to share it with you all...some of you might not like the belly photos (aka RO) sorry, I wont put too many up!

Love you all!

Dan, Hollie, Tyson, Hershie, and Baby B.

April Showers, Brought May Flowers...

I can't believe I haven't posted in a month, I think daily , "wow, I really need to blog." Then by the time I get home, I'm way to lazy to go to the computer room :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day :)

Well the school year is over, well at least the long semester, I have a math class that starts at the end of this month but one class versus five, I'll take it! I ended up with a 3.6 GPA for the year :) can't say that has ever happened before, plus I got and A in the math class I was dreading, I would say I'm very happy with how that turned out. The sad part about working my a$$ off though, I found out I can't graduate with honors because I already have a degree. So let this be news to everyone, don't mess around when you get your first degree work your butt off!

Any who,

Life has been very exciting lately and I will catch you up later this week on that, I have some posts ready for you all, I just have to edit them, so they are in the "draft" spot at the moment. My brother helped me finish my closet finally! The shelving is up, I just want to do a few touch ups and then I can hang the clothing. As for other house projects, well they have been put on hold for the next couple weeks. Why you ask? Well this week I leave for California to visit my cousin and go to her baby shower (very excited for her!) and then well when I get back hopefully I will be ready to get to work...because well, I have been really slacking lately, and Dan would agree...(whoops).

Speaking of Dan, softball season is officially here, and how can you tell? well....how bout a big black eye for the first game of the season?

Not the best photo but you get the idea:

Funny story is, Doug and Dan got home about 10:00 the dogs barked once, I thought Dan was just home and getting in the shower so I slept through them working on his eye, I woke up the next morning and said as Dan would quote, "OMG, what did you do?" He said that's why he didn't wake me up because he knew I would freak out, I didn't freak out I was just a concerned wife :) It's getting a lot better now, so I pray no more accidents for the rest of the year!

The first weekend of May always means Tulip Time! This past weekend was actually rather busy, Friday we went to a surprise birthday for Doug (Dans brother) at the I-Cubs game, great view from the outfield boxes, Saturday my mom, sister, and I went to Ankeny to try a doughnut place, it was okay but I wouldn't make a special trip....here is the butterfinger doughnut I had....

This is a cake doughnut with chocolate icing, in the center of the doughnut is a melted butterfinger bar, and then its topped off with pieces of butterfinger. After trying some new doughnuts we headed to the farmers market, which the only thing we ended up with was some delicious organic carrots.

However, the most exciting news from the past few weeks I would have to say is, my best friend having her first baby. Blakely Faith...Born May 4, 2011 she is the cutest little girl ever...

That's all the exciting news I have for today but there will be more coming later this week so stay tuned :))

7 weeks :)

I'M STARVING....all the time!

However, I am trying to keep it normal...just a little more snacking but I found that I love carrot sticks..haha.

Morning sickness--it could go away, I would be okay with that...I feel like over the last two weeks it just keeps getting worse!

Happy St. Patty's Day Everyone!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the day and will be able to get out and enjoy the weather and the festivities :) Dan and I will be enjoying the night with the pups just to relax for one night this week...LOVE IT!

Hershie is healing well, she is very tired as to be expected, but still giving kisses as always so that's a great sign.

5 weeks...

3/18/2011~

We are to five weeks...

Morning sickness at its best! When we first found out I prayed a lot and promised God and myself I would not complain because this is all a miracle from him, and I feel blessed and honored that we would trust me with such a blessing. I'm not complaining merely just telling you that I have had morning sickness, I thought I got it under control with the vitamins and fish oil as well as eating healthy snacks frequently... still every morning until around 10-10:30 my stomach feels a little queasy... I know it could be worse so I don't have a reason to complain! :)

Lunch:

Banana, carrot, Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat, and String Cheese :)

(It's a lot easier to eat healthy when you know someone else's life depends on it)

The weather here is getting so nice! High of 63 today...who can complain about that? The schools are actually on spring break so we have our all day programs for families that don't go out of town...today we are walking to the bowling alley! This means great exercise in the beautiful weather, then tonight I will probably go for another walk 30 minutes three times a week is what they recommend for me.

Some updates from Dan- Had his annual review and has improved every quarter=RAISE! I couldn't be more proud of him, he may struggle with actually loving his job, but he puts a smile on and does his best every day...it will pay off...just be patient. He has been doing really well lately at work, being one of the top bankers in the state for 3 weeks in a row :) Other than that he is still grasping the whole baby thing. Although, last night he rubbed my stomach for the first time which I loved...(even though I don't have a bump..yet!)....

House projects- Well the closet needs to be finished ASAP however, I'm the painter in the family so I'm not sure when that will be finished...we started in August 2010 and it still isn't finished...we like to take our time apparently! No, it will get done...hopefully I will have a post for that before you have a chance to read this post... We have a lot to do before baby arrives!! :) It will be interesting to see what posts you get to read of "finished" projects before you read these posts about the baby.... I'm hoping, the closet, front door, and living room will be finished when you read this post (7 weeks)....you all will have to let me know how we did!

Budget- We are still kicking away at the budget and finances! Dan spoke with our insurance company the other day and we seem to have a great plan...but we will change it once baby gets here. We are still following Dave Ramsey's plan...he says when you are ready to have babies you have babies you don't wait until you are debt free. He advises that you stop putting all the extra income into debt and get three to five months saved up...Think we can get that?!? Right now we have about 20% of what we need but we still have (at the time you get to read this) 6 months :) Which means we are back to paying minimum on everything again...however we have no Furniture to pay on, no camera to pay on, and no Wartburg to pay on....so that money is starting to add up :)

This weekend, Dan has to work, I have to work Friday and Saturday night at Old Navy, classes start back up Monday so I might work ahead on some assignments that I know are coming up...and hopefully some housework :) Oh and my Parents get home from their cruise so I'm looking forward to hearing about that....

That's all for this week...

Love you all!

News Flash...

3/11/2011-

I don't usually date my posts however, since this wont actually be posted on the day I write it, I did, so you can follow our little story:

On March 9 I felt a little sick at work, in fact I stood up from a table and told my co-worker I thought I was going to be sick. Keep in my the flu has been going around school like crazy! I had this feeling for about a week prior however I never thought I was actually going to throw-up until that night. I never did but I did start to question if I had the flu or if I was growing something inside me.

The next morning I didn't have my morning class so I decided with 3 days until my period I would take a pregnancy test and at least rule that out. Well it wasn't ruled out, I took one and it came up a very faint positive, I was excited but didn't want to get too excited just in case it was a false positive. I sent a photo of the test to my sister and she said, "I think that's a yes, but you better take another one to be sure." On my way to class I stopped by the dollar store (big mistake) to get a test, and got two. I took one in between my classes and it was negative, so of course I was really bummed, went to class, came home because class got out early took another test.....negative....I did some reading online as to how this could be one positive and two negative, and it said that the morning is the best because that is when the HCG (Pregnancy hormone is built up) and being that I hadn't actually missed my period there wasn't a ton to start with. That could have been what cause the two negative results. So what did I do...drank a ton of what the rest of the day, went to hang out at my parents house...(no body knows at this point that its even and option...besides my sister) leave there around 10:00 run to Walgreens pick up two more tests...run home and take one...POSITIVE :) Dan is out at pool league this night and has no idea what is going on, didn't even know I was taking a test....

Dan got home around midnight...I waited up....mind you the night before I was up until 3:30 studying and doing a project, and I have been exhasted for two weeks now and couldn't figure out why... so Dan gets home, I'm watching Drop Dead Diva in bed. It went a little like this...

Hollie: "Honey, we need to talk."

Dan: "I think I know what you are going to say"

Hollie: "Really? What do you think I'm going to say"

Dan: "You are pregnant?"

Hollie: "Yep, I took four tests today, two came back negitive insert story I just wrote above but I am going to take another in the morning to confirm." "What are you thinking?"

Dan: "I knew it!"
Hollie: "How do you feel excited?"

Dan:"Yeah"

Hollie: "scared, nervous?"

Dan: "Nervous."

Hollie: "Everything is going to be just fine!

Then just like the night we got engaged...neither of us could sleep! I guess what you have all been waiting to here is, WE ARE EXPECTING!! :)

The day I found out :)

It was a roller coaster of emotions this week...I found out my advisor had messed up my classes so I wont be done until 2013 which I'm okay with now but I wasn't at the time (this happened Monday...)and by Friday I was finding out we were going to have a baby.

We weren't really planning on having kids until I was out of school however, we know God had his own plan and we couldn't be more excited...at the time I am writing this none of you know and I wont actually post it until after we tell our families on Mother's Day, as that is when the first trimester will be over!

Here is the start of the 9 months: 4 weeks 3 days :)

Either way this is the start of our journey...hopefully you enjoyed this post...there will be many to come :)

Love,

Dan, Hollie, Tyson, and Hershie...and little Baby B :)

Short...and....clean?

Hello Readers!!

Hope everyone has been enjoying this lovely Spring like weather. I'm so ready for Spring to just stay here rather than one day here and there. This past weekend Dan and I took the time to rake up all the doggy doo and get the backyard ready for spring (It needs some work!)

Nothing better than the feeling of cleaning out "stuff" that we don't use/need, am I right?

Things have been actually rather calm around our house lately, which also means, my house is a mess, laundry needs done, and I have a lot of homework to do before next week...hahaha...

On a lighter note, we did get some things done/worked on last weeked...we have been contemplating the color in the family room, not the red the other goldish color we have... a reminder below... (this was right after we finished painting and we're waiting on the furniture to arrive)

Yes, I'm talking about that wall color...we officially decided we didn't like it, it's just a little too gold and a lot darker than I think we initially wanted and thought it was going to be. We looked around at a couple places and finally found one we really like. Instead of painting the living room to start (I knew I wanted the same color in the hallway leading to the back of the house) we painted the hallway to make sure we really liked it! Take a look...much lighter than the living room, but it will really open that room up again once we finish it.

This was suppose to be posted 2 weeks ago...woops oh well I will post it now...and repost a updated one later today! :)

Dream a little Dream....

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Dan and I went out for dinner, a whole $17- for our favorite local Chinese :) It was actually a wonderful night, we had dinner, had quality conversations, celebrated our accomplishments on conquering our debts, and enjoyed being with one another. Then we went home and I did a midterm project and passed out at about midnight :)

We got a wonderful edible arrangement from my grandparents! The fruit is always so fresh, I recommend them to everyone-

This week has been insanely busy that we have cooked little to no actual meals, basically whatever you can make from what we have in the cupboard and fridge...go for it...haha

Monday I had my first midterm, which there is two sections of the class, I spoke we two people from the section I am not in and they didn't do so hot, as it's graded on a curve and it ranged anywhere from 98% to 33%....so after knowing that I'm a little nervous to get my grade on Monday...but I studied really hard and knew what I was saying on the test...or so I'm pretty confident anyway...Tuesday, I had a midterm project due...which turned into one of those.."of course this would happen last minute," deals. The printer ink was acting up, we had to go to three different stores before we found one that was still open at 9:30 (9:30..who closes that early?..oh Office Depot, and Staples apparently!!) that carried the right ink, then I printed off 4 or 5 different renditions of my poster, and had to go with the 5Th like it or not because I was our of printer paper...ahahaha, yes all I could do was laugh. I mean really I totally wasted Saturday cleaning, getting our taxes done, and hanging out with Dan instead of homework....lesson learned..for this week anyway... then two other midterms yesterday, the first I'm pretty sure I blew out of the water...the math on the other hand, I had two pretty big problems that I struggled with...ahh whatcha gunna do about it? I'm so happy it's Friday!! :)

Tonight we are taking some needed time from finances, school and work to hangout with some wonderful friends! I'll post some photos next week...both of my girlfriends are prego :) Babies, Babies everywhere :)
As far as the week ahead...another big project due next week, and the big PRAXIS exam for me on Tuesday...I could use all the prayers in the world. This will determine my fate for the next semester as far as classes...I'm just a tad nervous, so major studying will be done with weekend! Then hopefully I can get some relaxing by next weekend....
last tid-bit before I sign off...
We have officially started an account for our down payment.. eek! I'm so ecstatic I don't even know what to say! I'm hoping to get some projects started this weekend in the house between work and studying, and going to see my mom that is :) I like to cram if you can't already tell! After our tax refund arrives next week, that will make for two more debts paid off and half paid down on another..keeping it rollin'!
check out our link to follow our progress for our dream home...

Something I saw on Dave Ramey's facebook page really hit home, it's a great article for those of you who think, "if I had more money of course I would be financially fit..." take a look...maybe it's time to adjust your habits and the income you have will work for you instead of against you. That's one thing Dan and I realized over the last 5 months. When he started working for Wells Fargo he didn't make what he is making now, but we always said "when you get a raise we will be just fine" Well he got that raise the same week we got married in 2009, however, or spending behaviors never changed so we were still spending more than we were making, and still saying, "when you make $_____ amount then we will be fine." Well, guess what, once we took the class, got down to business, we realized we make plenty of money, it's us that needs to change not the amount of money we make. "If you want to be a millionaire you have to do what millionaires do, if you want to be broke do what broke people do." 98% if Millionaires don't have car payments. "80% of America's Millionaires are first generation rich, that means they started with nothing, did smart stuff, and became millionaires."-Dave Ramsey. I'm not saying that we are going to be millionaires anytime soon, however, when we retire at a respectable age, we will have our million dollar nest egg because we stopped living like we were established forty-somethings and started living like broke college students. so check out this article on Dave Ramsey's website.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather while it's nice out :)
