Phase 1 Complete!

Well I have officially completed all of Phase 1! On to Phase 2 on Monday (eek!) So far I have stuck with it all, eating right and doing all of the workouts everyday, I feel so much better, I'm sleeping a lot better, and I have a ton more energy! For example, last night we went to my parents for a bit, Kypton and I got home and I opened the fridge and thought it had a funny smell so after putting Kypton to bed around 9 I decided I would deep clean the fridge! I felt so much better after that was done :) Either way here are my before shots with my completed Phase 1 shots that I promised!!

These 1st three are just to show more areas or muscle growth..I didn't take before shots of these areas...

My shoulders and arms (who knew there was muscle in there)
I'm getting there with the pipes ;)
My abs are coming back!!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

We officially have a roller, Kypton is rolling from back to front now! He hardly stays put, and he is getting very frustrated with not being able to crawl (slow down little man you're growing to fast!)! We had his 4 week appointment last Monday on the 19th he is weighing 14 pounds 15 ounces, and 25 inches long! We also got the nod for rice cereal which he hates and as of tonight won't open his mouth and just arches his back to get out of his chair...so back to plain bottle we went and in a couple weeks we will start some veggies :)

Dan and I talked about going organic/natural with him as I have heard a lot about hormones/chemicals in food being a cause of behavior problems amongst other things. We figure it is worth the shot and because I am already making the change to organic myself it shouldn't be too different in making meals when he gets a little older. I can't believe he is already old enough to start baby food :(

Other than that I feel like we have been so busy (as always) we are always doing something, this past weekend one of Dan's high school friends was in town so they spent the day hitting golf balls, and watching basketball just catching up, and then Sunday he went golfing with an old co-worker and my brother, as for Kypton and I we spent Saturday with my mom and Jenna, and then Sunday we just hung out then went to my parents for dinner. Last week was pretty crappy for weather so we didn't do much walking. I think it's supposed to be nicer this week but today was pretty windy and little man was tired so we just hung out and played at home, although on Thursday my mom, Kypton and I made the trek to Williamsburg to do some shopping, we got a lot for Kypton and a few things for Dan, it was nice to spend some time with my mom!

Some of my new PJ's from Grandma...

As far as working out goes, I'm on the last week of phase 1 and I can tell a major difference in my muscles! I have lost another pound, and have got some tone as well. I feel stronger and feel more confident in my running shorts! I can tell a major difference in my calve muscles for sure as well as in my arms. Photos at the end of the week when this phase is complete. Another thing about all this, the eating clean is awesome, I really never thought I would like it but I really enjoy trying new foods and recipes. Tonight Dan actually made me some protein brownies which he thought were going to be really good, he ended up hating them, I thought they were great! I found this lady on Facebook that has a blog about different clean recipes, plus I'm following 3 ladies on Facebook that have started similar lifestyle changes and have the same goals so finding recipes, staying motivated and finding more workouts to add to what I do has been fun and simple! Another piece of advice if you eat clean, don't try to have a "cheat" day and eat crap like fast food or anything with a lot of grease, you will feel super sick or may even get sick, I found out the hard way :(

We also got news from my mom today that they booked a week in the Ozarks this summer! We are very excited to go on a family vacation. We used to go to the Ozarks a lot in the summer when we were younger as my grandparents had a home on the lake, a lot of great memories and friends from there. So we are going the week we used to go when we were younger as the families we hung out with still go down on that week so we are hoping to get to hang out with them. The last time we went down for the week was 6 years ago, but we were down there for a weekend to celebrate our friends wedding 5 years ago. Dan has never been to the lake so it will be fun to show him around and take him to the dam and all the fun stuff we have always done, plus it will be Kypton's big first vacation! Over all it will be great family time as always!!! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Kypton is 4 months today!! Here's his photos :)

Holy Moly how bout that weather? Although it's raining today, which I won't complain...because I don't have to drag the hose out to water my flowers that have already bloomed! Either way, last week we went for a walk every day. Monday around town, Tuesday at Gray's Lake, Wednesday to my parents, Thursday up to see my mom at work, then to see Kypton's great Grandma, and Friday Kypton and I took the dogs up to the pond in the morning then in the afternoon walked up to the mall. Needless to say I got my workout (cardio) and Kypton got a lot of fresh air!

As for the rest of the week, last Sunday my mom and I took a much needed girls day and Kypton stayed with Dad. The rest of the week Dan usually worked a little each night after we put Kypton to bed, I got my weight training in each day, cleaned out closets to take stuff to GoodWill, did some baking, and played with little man. We spent St. Patty's with my family with a traditional Irish meal made from my mom and we hung out and watched some basketball. Sunday, we had some friends over to grill out and the guys watched some basketball and the girls got to catch up :)

Lastly, as far as working out I'm on week three, one week left of Phase 1! I feel really good, tons of energy, and have tried a lot of new foods including Organic Veggie burgers, Dairy free cheese, and dairy free desserts, oh yes, and Zucchini Chocolate Chip bars, I love the feeling of knowing I'm eating clean. So far, so good after Phase 1 I will take updated photos to show progress!

Here are some photos from our week:

Spring is so close we can smell it :)

Today was a great 1st weekend of Spring. We went to PetCo to get a double leash for the dogs, and a new pooper scooper! (Ours broke a few weeks back) Then we headed over to see Doug, Holly and the girls. You would think being 10 minutes away we would see them more often but nope! Well Dan and Doug work together so they see each other obviously everyday but more from my stance we never see them! After leaving there we headed to Palmers for a lunch date, which I must say I stuck really well to my food groups! Wheat wrap with turkey breast tomatoes and sprouts, with a side of tomato salad and a water, I did joke Dan about putting his giant rice crispy bar where I couldn't see it though :) Now being that it is Saturday Dan used to have to work but now it's mostly what he wants to get done on Saturday, so we couldn't have all play no work so we stopped by his office to get some work for him to to do. Then we headed home to get the pups, drove up to the pond and had a nice long walk! Nice little Saturday if you ask me..now time for some relaxing since I'm supposed to be resting my muscles :)

11 Weeks to go!

Officially done with week one live fit! Down to 115 which is what I weighed when I found out we were expecting. I'm happy with this weight but if I got down to 110 I wouldn't be too upset about :) That would be college weight, even though some people swear I weighed much less (I'll take it as a compliment!) People need to remember that I played soccer and we had to lift, and one of my roommates and I always went to workout on the weekend regardless of the shenanigans we got into the night before haha. I remember coming home one weekend and having to go buy new jeans because my butt grew from all the squats and lunges, thank you Coach A!

Many of you are on Pinterest these days and I must say I go in spurts, I usually have a specific reason when I get on that I am looking for. For example, Fitness has been a big hit for me since having Kypton almost four months ago. I love some of the quotes to keep me intense, the photos of what I hope to obtain in the end, and the food that looks decent that helps with building muscle (yuck, protein shakes!) Here are some of my favorite finds:

Have this quote for week two in my notebook where I keep track of my lifts/weights..
Love Jamie for putting it straight!
Perfect workout outfit
Week 3 notebook quote
LOVE these shoes..almost time for some new ones!

These are just a few of the things that keep me inspired. On the other hand I have the work, my notebook to keep track of everything has been really helpful, I can see what meals I am to eat, and all the lifts I need to do but there is also a place to keep track of the weight and reps so I can see how far I have come each week. This week was a good start but also showed how weak my arms are compared to what I thought (damn, reality haha) by weak I mean I could only use 4 pound weights for some of my reps! I really think it was a good building week as it was meant to be.

Typical day workout this week (each week will change a tad):

Legs/Calves day-

Leg Press: 3 sets of 12 reps

Leg Extensions: 3 sets of 12 reps

Sumo BB Squat: 3 sets of 12 reps

Seated Leg Curl: 3 sets of 12 reps

Standing Calf Raises: 3 sets of 12 reps

Seated Calf Raises: 3 sets of

Now if I could just convince my husband to join the gym with me to be my coach I think things would go even better, so if you have any ideas of how to do that I'm all ears! Bribing is recommended!

Post ya later, but one last image for you all...

windy Wednesday...

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week..The weather has been crazy here in Iowa as usual (for those that are reading this out of state) We had snow on Monday, and then Tuesday and today the 60's and 70's! Yesterday, Kypton and I tried to go for a walk out by Gray's Lake with Em and B but it was so windy that we didn't walk very long. Walking is typically a good workout however my arms seemed to be getting more of a workout than my legs trying to keep the stroller from blowing around! Either way we took the play date to Em's house and just hung out for a bit there. B had to take her nap so Kypton got some one on one time with Aunt Em!

Last week, Dan, had to do some training in Baltimore. Fun for him but we missed him a lot around here. It was my first real look at what it would be like to have a husband that travels and I can't say that I would be a fan if he had to do it more frequently! It's nice to have him back home, he didn't get in until late Thursday night and I waited up (doing laundry/cleaning) so I could pick him up at the airport :)

Other than that Dan has been working a lot, longer hours than when he was at the bank so we're both getting used to that, but it's also nice that he can be home on Saturday's even if he has to work a little at home.

As far as Kypton and I..we still love being home, Kypton is changing everyday and I honestly couldn't put a price on being able to stay home. I really would recommend to anyone that even has an itch to stay home to find a way if possible to do it and give it a try. I know some mom's have no desire and I understand that but for those who do, it's totally worth every minute even if you have to give up some of your wants, and really it's just wants that you are giving up not the needs, it actually has been humbling for me. I have some girlfriends that stay home as well and I haven't talked to one yet that says they wish they would have gone back to work. Funny thing is I was telling another friend (one that doesn't have kids yet) that I basically went/paid for college to meet my husband because I have always said I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. Here are some photos I have taken here and there for you to check out..

Going on a walk with B...
Daddy's coming home today we better look our best so he knows what he missed :)
Tummy time..refusing to roll over..
"Mom, I'm not going to roll over so stop taking pictures!"

P.I.N.K.-Well I got back to pre-baby weight so I am done with the P.I.N.K. Method for now, I will probably pick it back up on the workouts in a few weeks (when I do cardio again), but for now I am on to toning everything and building more muscle. I started following Jamie Eason on Facebook as well as at Bodybuilding.com after I found her on Pinterest. I loved the look of her program and her look is exactly what I am going for. I am almost done with week one of lifting which means 11 weeks to go! It has been a great feeling to really get back to lifting regardless of how weak I am compared to college, but I am confident I will get back to where I was. I am excited to see the change in my body and see if I can get a six pack again (it's been since high school for that one!) I did take some before photos which bare with me, I did fit back into a swimsuit I bought my Jr. of college on spring break, it may not be pretty right now but in 11 weeks I will be proud and excited to put it on (in time for summer!) considering a few weeks ago I said I would never wear a bikini again! Wish me luck on the next of my fitness phases--

Here is Jamie- In the blue pants...
Before some of you start saying her boobs are fake and start to judge her, yes they are, but her story is actually that she found a lump when she was an NFL cheerleader, let herself go after having it removed, and one day went back to the gym and that has been her inspiration. As for me after four kids, yes, I will want to have implants..judge all you want there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good :)
Either way..Check out her abs..her arms are amazing as well..you can look her up to see more photos too. She is a fitness model so beware some images for some of you reading this may not be what you would consider as tasteful...

Don't mind the blinding whiteness...that is currently being worked on again as well (ya, tanning!)

I have one day left of lifting this week before 3 days off..and I am down two pounds, although, I am not really trying to lose more I know I will be gaining it back in the next couple weeks but it is still nice to see my body is responding to the workouts. I have to say the hardest part is eating, and it's not even the meals are bad because it's all stuff I would normally eat but much more of it. For example, breakfast is a starch, 5 egg whites, and unlimited veggies. Um, I love eggs but I have to gag down 5 egg whites it's so strange! Basically for lunch I have chicken or fish with a starch, then in between meals I have 2 turkey muffins, but most of the time I'm not hungry so I have to gag that down too. It will take some time to get used to all this eating, Dan jokes and says it's all the health food I have the issues with because I have to gag down protein shakes too, no matter how good they sound and what I put in them I ALWAYS gag (haha)! I'm sure it will all work out in the end...

Enjoy the rest of the week you are more than halfway done!
