Much Needed Rain!

Well it rained all day today! Usually I would complain that it's raining on a Saturday, however, we NEED rain. It was a great day to be lazy. We were exactly that...for the most part. Dan had some work to do and I made a big lunch, and of course Kypton was up and ready to play at 7!

We spent a majority of the day just lounging though. We went to hang out with my rents and had some pizza. Kypton played and played..he was so tired he kept falling a sleep while eating which hasn't happened for a while!

We're home and relaxing and enjoying the quiet for the rest of the evening!

Happy Weekend!!

9 Months

Kypton James is 9 months old, weighing in at 20.12lbs and 28" long!  He is our growing boy.  He is eating a lot of table food now fruits and veggies at least, we haven't tried a lot of meat yet.  He is cruising around the furniture like no ones business.  We bought him a toy that he can walk and push and he is awesome at it.  He will be walking on his own before we know it.  He is quiet the daredevil already climbing on things and trying to stand on his own.  He is still our happy little guy, still only two teeth on the bottom.  The Dr. said he looks to be growing well and all round heathy, that makes Mom and Dad happy to know he is hitting all his milestones.  He claps for himself often, loves peek-a-boo, and loves to deny us kisses by pretending he is going to give us one and at the last minute throwing his head back and shaking it no-no.  He is very ornery but we wouldn't have him any other way :)

He are some photos from his 9 month shoot (Daddy helped this time around!)

Dan took Kypton out for the night to watch Uncle Doug play some softball and give me some time to myself.  I was given strict instructions when Dan left-Relax and NO cleaning.  Haha.  I didn't clean I actually picked up Kypton's toys and then did a project from Pinterest I had been wanting to do.  It was perfect timing with Fall right around the corner.  What fun is Pinterest if you can't actually do any of the things you pinned?  Here is my final product--

Hope everyone is having a great week, and that back to school went smoothly for everyone!

Da-Da

June 29th Kypton learned how to say Da-da and he got his second tooth!  June was a BIG changing month that's for sure.

Friends, Family, and the Iowa State Fair!

We have been busy since we got back from vacation, Dan and Kypton and catching up on Z's at the moment so I thought I would get a quick blog update in.

The day after we got back Kypton's friend had his 1st birthday so we went to help celebrate.  Then that week we caught up on some sleep and got him back on a regular schedule.  We also had to retrain sleeping in him own bed.  He hated his pack and play on vacation so he slept with up all week so when we got home Dan and I were ready to sleep in our own bed without random kicks to the ribs and slaps to the face in the middle of the night so into his crib he went.  The fist few nights were rough as you can imagine but by Friday he had it down!

Come Friday we were having some friends over for a thank you dinner as they watched our dogs for a few days (last minute) while we were gone.  As I was getting ready to order the pizza online my computer said it had some new updates, do the update go to restart, hard drive crashes!!! I was so mad, the only saving grace was that everything was saved on my iPhone.  We spent all day last Saturday at the Apple store (it was bonkers in there!!)  Then as we were on our way home from the Apple store I was like I should get my ring cleaned today, look down and notice one of the stones is missing.  Not one of the three biggest but one of the small ones on the band.  Needless to say it was a long, emotional weekend for me, lol!

Sunday we just hung around I tried to get some of my photos back on to my new hard drive.  We went and had ice cream in the after noon then headed to my parents for some pizza and to hang out.

This past week we had a lot of visitors!! :) Let's see, Monday Great Grandma D came to visit as she wanted to do his hand and foot print for a 1st birthday gift.  Tuesday a friend came to visit and told us that she is expecting.  We are so excited for her.  We started hugging and cheering and well Kypton got a little frightened so he started to cry.  We couldn't be happier for them though!!  Wednesday, Miss Colleen came to visit we haven't seen her since May so it was great to catch up with her.  We are going to try and visit her this week to see her classroom in Newton before school starts back up!  Then we went to visit Grandma at work for a bit before heading home for a nap.  Thursday and Friday we just hung around the house, Dan didn't get home until about 7 or so on Friday, and Grandpa and Grandma stopped by after they went to dinner, so it was a night at home of relaxing.

Yesterday, we decided to go to the fair.  We were going to wait until next weekend but the weather was so nice I didn't want to chance it getting so hot again next weekend and then not go.  My parents rode with us and then my sister and Bill met up with us.  They had extra tickets we are so thankful for them sharing with us.  We hung out with them and ate some delicious food of course.  Dan had a pork chop sandwich and a couple beers.  I had a pickle with cream cheese wrapped in pastrami and deep fried (TO DIE FOR!) and then I had a 1/2lb tenderloin. Kypton had some fried bread before passing out for most of the day.  All that fresh air made him sleepy.  He was so good though!  After the fair Kypton spent the night with Grandpa and Grandma and we went over to Dan's brothers for a cookout and fire pit.  Although, I wasn't hungry Dan did eat, and we just relaxed and chatted.  All in all a busy but fun last two weeks!
Getting ready to eat his cake!
 Thanking everyone!!
 Kypton and Blakely playing!
 My beautiful "niece" Blakely!
 Aunt Em and Kypton!
 Opening some Gifts!

Hope everyone is doing well, good luck with all those going back to school this week!

PS I have some photos from the Fair but will have to add them later =)

Vacation!!

We have been back from vacation now for just over week but so much has been going on...the first week was like catch up week on sleep and resting...strange considering we were just on vacation.  It is always like that though!

We had a great time--

Saturday- Finish packing up the cars and head out..I think we finally got out about 7:45 or so...got to the lake took a tour down to where the old house used to be.  Everything and I mean EVERYTHING down there is totally different.  So many new roads and places..we hardly knew which way we were going half the time.  We did a few hours in the pool when we got there, showered up and headed out to some old stomping grounds at Back Water Jacks.  Had some pain in the ass drinks and a not so good dinner (I think they are more known for the atmosphere and drinks) did some grocery shopping, then headed in for the night so we could be ready for a full day on Sunday.

Sunday--Pool day!! We started the morning with a delicious breakfast at the Dam at Stuart's home of the 5-gallon cinnamon roll.  Enough to feed all of us that is actually how big they are.  Then we went back and enjoyed the pool.  Then for dinner we headed back down to the Dam and had some delicious Chinese/Thai dinner.  Then we walked around the Dam and got some salt water taffy of course!

Monday--Up bright and early--time to get the boat and do some skiing!  We were out on the lake all morning, headed back to the condo, got a good nap in then headed to Captain Ron's for dinner--was delicious--then we headed out to do some go carting.  I hate go carts but Dan loves them so I let everyone pass me so I could be all by myself in the back.  However, I come to the corner I hated the most and Dan is there waiting for me--I know he was trying to be sweet and wait for me but literally I am one of those that uses my brakes in the go cart thats how much I dislike them, it was still fun though!

Tuesday-  Another day, people we tired from boating and skiing the day before so we slept in a little.  Then we met up for some $1.00 tacos with the rest of the "last week of July gang."  Long story short they are some family friends who we always used to meet up with at the lake when we were younger, one family is from here in Urbandale but the other family is from Nebraska.  Still great to see them all!  After lunch we headed down to the pool for a bit, got ready for the night then headed to Horney Toad.  Used to be a yummy place to eat but I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone now.  They do have good blended drinks though if you like those :)  After that we had a family game of mini golf! It was super hot and sticky and we were sweating but it was a lot of fun!  After winning we headed to get some ice cream--pretty tasty--Kypton enjoyed that as well.

Wednesday- We headed back out on the boat again for a few hours of skiing, Kypton stayed with Grandma back at the condo.  After the boat we headed to the condo for a quick lunch before heading to an amazing place called Coconuts!  It has a beach area for kids with mini golf and a bunch of other stuff, they have some beach beds, they have a "pool" for the little ones, its a jacuzzi with water--not hot.  They have a area to swim in the lake with a big trampoline and they have a large saltwater pool for those 21 and over with a swim up bar. We rented wave runners while we were there.  Kypton got his first virgin strawberry daiquiri.  It was super hot so after we got off the wave runners we headed back to the condo with my rents and my siblings stayed a while longer.  We ate at home this night by far one of the best meals, we grilled out and watched a movie.

Thursday- My brother and Jenna headed back home so Jenna could work on Friday.  We had a shopping day, it was cloudy so we headed to the outlets and did some good ol' shopping.  I always went to CK to get some new undies and bra--like a tradition.  My sunglass broke the day before so I got some new sunglasses, Dan got some new shirts at UnderArmour and Kypton well he did some damage at Children's Place, and Carters ;)  It did rain a bit but cleared up late afternoon.  That evening we took our friends big boat to Frankie and Louies--Kind of like Coconuts, but we just went for dinner this time and good company!  Some sea food pizza for our stomachs as well as some yummy leap frogs, chocolate covered pretzels and RumChata for our stomachs as well :)  Headed back for the night for some sleep we had a busy day ahead haha!

Friday-Last day--ALL DAY IN THE POOL!! Cleaned up in the early afternoon--we were all pretty fried by this day.  We headed to an old shopping district got a delicious cupcake at the cupcake shop, headed to dinner at Shorty Pants.  Was pretty good, nice atmosphere for the last night on the lake.  We went home after to get things packed up so we weren't scrambling before we left.

Saturday--Pack up and head home.  Well, we had a few pit stops on the way.  We wanted to stop back at the Dam I saw a shirt I couldn't get my mind off, and we wanted to stop at Ozarkland for some Fudge because our long time Fudge shop at the Dam closed down (very sad!)

We had a great time, it was nice to get home to our dogs and our bed, but a vacation for the books and memories for a lifetime!  Here are some photos from our week--
