Baby, Baby, Baby...ohhh Baby...

Ha, yes I just used Bieber's lyrics as the title.  I'm not a lover but not a hater of him I kind of just see him as another young artist finding himself.  Enough about that though :)

So, as I start running into people more now that it is nice out and we are out and about more.  People tend to ask how things are going.  I can't remember everything I have posted about this pregnancy and I didn't take the time to go back and look either, so I thought I would do a quick update!

We are 18+5 so almost 19 or almost half way.  However you want to look at it.  We find out on June 18th what we are having, yes, I realize that is 21 weeks but they didn't have any available appointments  for our 20th week, so we wait!  Either way we are excited to see what we are having.  We just pray for healthy.  With all the crazy, scary stories we have heard about pregnancy lately we are just going for healthy!

As for me--feeling a gazillion times better if that is possible.  Morning sickness is finally gone, I think 16 weeks was when it finally ended.  If that is any indication of health for the baby, we have a healthy baby ;)  These days I am starving all the time, and I mean alllll the time.  I do try to watch what I am eating but Cosmic Brownies will be the end of me.  If you know me from college days you probably find that funny as I could eat a whole box of those in a days time, then I went thru a period where I couldn't even look at them.  Well, that is officially over as I got super excited to see the BIG box at Walmart, Ha...ya! I'm not really sure about cravings with this one, it seems to be all over the place from fruit and veggies...I'm loving my veggies, I had a long period where a fresh salad was the only thing that sounded good, but I still love my sweets which I remember nights with Kypton that Dan would have to make a candy run for me.  My body is totally different this time around.  I do think I am carrying a little higher this time..at least for now.  If you can use your imagination other parts are significantly bigger then they have ever been..sorry TMI for some of you ;)  Other than that, I can't remember exactly how big I was half way with Kypton but I feel like this time around I'm smaller, which probably really isn't the case I'm just hoping..haha.  Trying to set that, baby #2 you get bigger rumor aside!  It helps that we are walking a lot more though, so I'm getting plenty of exercise this time around.  With Kypton I was working and going to school so we did a few walks during the week but not like this time.  I think yesterday a lone we walked about 5 miles between morning and our night time walk (LOVE IT!)  Other than that things are going well.

We haven't bought anything yet.  We were going to put baby boy in with Kypton so we still had the office, but after thinking about it...yeah, I can't do it.  I feel like that is Kypton's room and we worked really hard to make it Kypton's room.  I feel like him having to give that up will make the transition a little harder actually.  I know some of you are probably like...he will be fine.  Your right I'm sure he would be.  However, I also look at it as, yes, this is baby #2 and he/she should feel just as special that we worked hard for his/her room and made his/her homecoming and birth just as exciting.  No baby #2/middle child issue from the start right..ha! Basically, that means we are waiting just like we did for Kypton...to see what we are having before we pick out anything!!

Which brings me to the gender reveal.  This time seems a little harder as reveals parties are becoming more popular.  We did the open the gift one for Kypton and let my parents open a picture frame with the sonogram and a baby boy poem in it.  This time like I said is harder with more and more people doing them.  The balloons have been done, that cake has been done (a ton), we did the gift, we have ideas but nothing that is like screaming at me, Yes, that is the one.  We have a few weeks yet but we still want to get everything we possibly can together before hand as we find out on a Tuesday and my parents leave the following morning for the Bahamas.  Rough life there ;)  So, basically we will have to have the get together on the Tuesday.  Which now if I think about it I think we found out what Kypton was on a Tuesday!  My guess is the next blog will be about what we are having, of course unless something super fun/exciting comes up before then.

As of today the only thing that could happen before then is potty training.  Kypton started a couple weeks ago by getting the wipes out and going to lay down in the middle of the floor, and we were like what the heck is he doing...he needed changed.  Then he started pointing to his crotch when he was going to the bathroom so we would know, and then change him.  As of this morning it changed to saying, Yuck, going to get a diaper and wanting to wipe himself.  Sooo...I guess we should get on the training.  I'm nervous that he isn't really ready but if he is I don't want to delay it.  Plus, I'm not ready for accidents...and I know they are going to happen.  With nothing in the plans for the weekend I figure is would be a good weekend to try at least.  Any advice would be appreciated!

Hope everyone is doing great, and you are enjoying the beautiful weather today and it looks like its going to be a great weekend!  I'm waiting for Kypton to wake up to go for a walk!!

Love the Buchholz's :)

Rain, Rain and More Rain...

Wow, everyone in Iowa knows that we could use a few days without the rain.  We haven't been outside much but when we have Kypton is loving it.  We got a small pool for him last weekend...then the rain just wouldn't let up!

Let me back up a little here to recap the last couple weeks...

Kypton and I spend a lot of time playing as you can imagine, mornings are typically calm and relaxing before nap.  It's all about reading and the new favorite app of Elmo.  Mind you he will leave it running on the ipad and move on to something else.  However, if you choose to turn it off (because Elmo doesn't get annoying or anything) he runs right back over and says, "Elmo!" Then you have to turn it back on....

Afternoons are spent either walking or lately a lot of playing inside because the last two weeks have been sooo rainy.

Last Saturday my sister got married (Congrats to them!)  The rest of Saturday was cold, however, we went to Dan's brothers for a bonfire and Kypton stayed with my parents for the night.  Those nights are few and far between as its so lonely when you get home and he's not in his room :(  Sunday, we went to get him and then did some grocery shopping, and I'm talking three different stores and three hours.  I am all about saving money on groceries if possible but sometimes we cant get everything at one store so we have to go to another.  Either way it made for a long afternoon with Kypton.  We grilled with my brother and his wife Sunday night, and Monday was all about relaxing.  Dan did work a little while Kypton napped but it was still relaxing.

Now for this week it has been so rainy we have been inside a lot.  Yesterday, we were literally walking out the door and it started down pouring! aghh, that made for one very unhappy little man as he was set to go bye-bye.  After a meltdown he decided to watch out the window for a little bit then it was a good time to cuddle with Mom (I'll take that :) !)  This morning I didn't take any chances, it was sunny when we got up and still sunny after breakfast so we got ready and headed out for a walk.  I knew if we didn't get it in we wouldn't get one in as there is 70% chance all day today!

This walk was different than most as we were on our last leg coming down our street a neighbor mom was out.  I had seen her kids out and they are pretty young (4 and 2) and some other kids but never her.  She stopped us and said hi and we talked for about a half hour.  I learned that she stays home and she is a former teacher so she does some home schooling for their 4 year old and she will homeschool him for kindergarten.  I also found that there are a lot of SAHMs on our street.  They are down a couple blocks but it's nice to know they are there and they have kids around Kypton's age.

This is funny because at the beginning of the walk and we were gone for about 2 hours.  I was thinking how nice it would be to live in a smaller town, but still close enough that our kids could go to Des Moines Christian (and I didn't have to drive forever to get them there) but have a neighborhood with parents our age and kids the same age as ours and okay let me be really real for a minute (Dan just laughed at him when I told him this) I want a street like Desperate Housewives!  I want that close group of Mom's that stay home, that their husbands hangout and the Mom's hangout after the kids are off to school.  I know we have a while until the kids are in school but for all the Mom's or even those who want to get married and settle down with a family. I would think you know what I'm talking about and it's not that unrealistic to want...is it?  So, yeah after talking with her it made me realize that yes it can happen.

Either way..enough of my day dreaming....here are some photos from the last couple weeks...

Spring is Here...

So, so sorry I haven't been updating the blog.  I initially stopped because we found out we were pregnant and I didn't want to give any clues just incase something went south, then I was so sick for the first 15 weeks and nothing but laying down sounded fun!  So, again, so sorry, I hope to start getting better....AGAIN :)

Well a lot has happened in the last few months, to be honest I'm not even sure when I wrote last and I didn't even look before I started typing.  So I'll start from moving back in to our house, we moved back in which I think I wrote about, things are going great, we love the floors.  Kypton thinks its great because his cars go a lot better on wood then carpet!

Fast forward--Dan's brother had a baby girl--AHH--so many babies this year I love it!!  My brother got married about two weeks after baby Emery was born.  They just got back from their honeymoon last week and we just got to see all the photos last night.  All in mean time we found out we were expecting and we are now in week 17 (feeling MUCH better!)  My sister is getting married this coming weekend.

We have had birthday parties and get togethers and Dan is beyond busy with work, the weather has been amazing so we are getting a lot of walks in.  Kypton loves walks and just being outside in general.  Home life is crazy, we have a few more weeks until we find out if we are having a boy or girl.  As of right now we haven't bought anything but we do know we will have to have a new stroller and crib.  So, we have talked about it but haven't made the commitment yet :)

Other than that it just same ole same ole, which we can't complain.  Life is good, it will only be as busy and crazy as we allow it but right now we are happy, Kypton is happy and thats all we can ask for!

Hopefully everyone is doing great, I hope the next post I can be a little more specific on whats been happening and more timely photos as well.  Here are some from the last few months!
