Long(est) Post!

Ahh--Okay, Christmas has passed...but we have one more celebration this week, and it's also New Years!

The 1st part of this post will be about finishing up this year, and the second part will be about looking ahead to 2014!

Here we go--

Christmas was a lot of fun. We got to see family from out of state as well as family whom we don't see very often even though they live only a few minutes away.  Kypton got to play with cousins.  He loved Santa this year.  He loved all the desserts that come with holiday eating.  He of course enjoyed opening presents.  We had a little set back with Santa this year.  I "called" Santa on Sunday after talking with Kypton Saturday night and requested a change in his gift.  I said it would need rushed in order to get here on time.  Well, Santa must have lost the gift because Dan had to go "meet" with Santa on Christmas morning to pick it up.  So, we didn't get to see the reaction on his face like we were hoping, but he LOVES his gift.  It was a vacuum he asked for, and well there have been a couple nights of 4:00am wake up calls where he doesn't want to sleep any longer but wants to vacuum! I laugh now until the next night he does this!  He was very blessed by Grandpa and Grandma, as well as Aunts and Uncles as well.  We had birthday cake and sang for Baby Jesus--the start of new traditions--I love it!  Dan and I decided that this year was really all about the kids and didn't do gifts for each other, other than the stockings "Santa" did.  Nothing exciting in those I might add!  We were given a double B.O.B from my parents though and we could not be more excited!!!

The day after Christmas Kenzlie was officially 2 Months old! Really?!  I told Dan just tonight that I want a summer baby next go around!  We have entirely too much going on at the end of the year starting in October.  Our anniversary-October 23, Kenzlie's Birthday-Oct. 26, Kypton's Brithday-Nov 19, Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, New Years!  There is no stopping once October hits! Back to Kenzlie, she is smiling up a storm.  She loves when her brother talks to her and gives her kisses.  She hates when we take her bottle to burp her.  She has been sleeping through the night for the last two weeks now.  We missed her 2 month check up due to an ice storm but we rescheduled for January 14th.  We can't wait to see how big she is.  She is starting to get the hang of tummy time.  I haven't been near as pushy about doing it as I was with Kypton.  She still knows when she wants to be put down to be by herself, however, she is starting to get to the point where she actually wants to be held! I love it, I thought she would never get to that point.  Cloth diapers are going awesome! I wish I would have done them with Kypton.  We no longer have to buy diapers as Kypton is potty trained and we do full time cloth with Kenzlie!  Kenzlie got her first dolly for Christmas!  She is still really quiet and a very content, easy baby.  We have been so blessed with both kids being pretty easy. We are so blessed we have this little Princess in our lives, we are excited to see her change in the next year!!

It has been a busy year to say the least.  We had two weddings in my family, a niece born in each of our families, the birth of Kenzlie, 3 of our friends had babies, we started Advocare, and so much more.  We are blessed beyond words.  We have another year under the belt but we are excited for 2014 and all that it may bring.

So, what does 2014 have in store that we are aware of?  Right now, we know Dan will be making the switch to a new position with the same company he works for.  We will be working extra hard with our Advocare Business.  Kypton will be starting the new year in a big boy bed and will end the year turning 3!  Kenzlie will be changing monthly and end the year turning 1!  Dan and I will be celebrating 5 years!  We know as always there will be ups and downs that come with every year, but that's what keeps life interesting!

Instead of doing resolutions and/or a bucket list like most years I am going to focus more on goals.  I will do weekly goals, monthly goals, and yearly goals.  Things that I can measure, some easier than others, but all hopefully things that at the end of 2014 I can say I grew as a person.  The list may grow as far as yearly goals or they may change if I hit a goal sooner than I thought.  I'm really planning on this year being HUGH.  In turning 28 this year I only have 2 years left in my 20's and I have a lot of things I want to do before I'm 30, so this is the year!!!

Yearly-(That I know of right now!)
Hit Advisor with Advocare!
Bikini Competition (June)

Monthly-(That I know of right now!)
Read two books a month-(1 personal growth, 1 business)
Make our budget

Weekly-(That is 52, I don't have that many yet, and these are in no particular order)
1. Organize closets/drawers
2. Budget binder
3. Finish living room decor/organization

More to come,  I will add a page to our blog so you can follow/see what I have accomplished and what I have added to the list!

2014 is going to be a year of growth and we are excited to start it off celebrating with Dan's Family on Tuesday!  We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Happy New year, have fun and be safe!

Hustle and Bustle

Christmas is quickly approaching and we are having quite the month already!

My birthday on the 2nd--we didn't do anything special as I wasn't feeling well, I slept pretty much all weekend.  I'm going to chalk it up to pure exhaustion because I pretty much slept for 3 days straight besides going to the grocery store for an hour.  Thank God for Dan for letting me sleep while he did all of my normal duties!

We are in week two of potty training.  Here is the run down on this.  We have been trying, well, since the middle/end of summer (when I was massive) and I would work with him and he would fight tooth and nail.  So, I said, "I'm not going to fight, I'm too big and too hormonal!"  We let it go and let him do his thing.  The annoying part--he would tell us EVERY time he was going to the bathroom..in his diaper.  Then he would say, "it's okay, diaper on!" Which was even more annoying to me because he knew it was okay to go in a diaper just not in his underwear, arg!!  So, two weeks ago now, he randomly said, "go potty," then proceeded to his potty and needed help getting his diaper off.  I decided that was it no more diapers.  We started a week ago Sunday, and he was doing great.  Then we got a mouse in our bedroom so we went to stay with my parents until we caught it.  It got us a little off schedule, he ended up getting a bad cold, and me being the worry wart didn't want him to wet their crib.  Which ended up with a few accidents last week, mostly at nap time.  Once we got home Sunday I made it clear to him and Dan that, "there is no more diapers!"  We have had two accidents 1 when he got up the 1st morning without a diaper, and that same day at nap.  Then he started to fight me every time I said he needed to go try to use the potty.  I was so annoyed...hence my Facebook post which most of you probably saw.  I finally just let him tell me when he needed to go and it has been 100% better and no accidents!! Crossing everything and knocking on wood, ha!  I am praying this continues and we have only 1 in diapers come 2014..and she is in cloth so we wont be buying any more diapers!!! 2014 is looking up already ;)

As for more awesomeness--and let me be clear our lives aren't always sunshine and roses, we have a lot of things we can't control I just choose not to dwell on them, that may or may not be a good thing but ehh if tomorrow never comes at least I was focused on the positive, right?!?--Anyway, back to the awesomeness...Dan and I do every other night with the middle of the night feeding.  Well, last night was my night and guess who slept ALL NIGHT?!? Yup, Kenzlie Grace!  Dan did a feeding at 9:00 while I was at the gym and put her in her crib about 10:00 and I woke her up at 8:00AM this morning! This is probably a fluke, although, she has been doing the sleeping in longer spurts we knew it was just getting it at the right time of night so hopefully, fingers crossed, we have got it in the right spot.  We shall see, time will tell right?  Although, we know we can't complain with only having to get up once in the night, being she is only 6 weeks old!  More of Kenzlie, she is finally starting to smile at us, she is really independent (I have no idea where she gets it ;) ) but when she wants cuddles she wants them now!  It's really hard not to give in as they are few and far between!

Back to the mouse (I'm sure some of you are curious) I was getting up to do a feeding last week and I heard cords moving behind our bed, although, at first I thought it was sleeting out.  Which I was told I  probably was hearing the mouse climbing in the vents. (YUCK!)  Either way, I got down on the floor with my phone flash light and there was this little mouse looking back at me.  I jump on the bed and Dan, clueless, asked me what I was doing...oh honey, I'm just trying to get on you at 5:15 in the morning, by putting a flashlight in your face and saying, ewe, ewe, I knew it!! Haha...so I then ran to the bathroom and sat balled up on the toilet.  Had Dan get Kypton out of bed (because I thought I saw the mouse run in his room)  give me a break it was 5:15 and I saw a mouse--I was freaking out!  Mean while I talked to my Dad and he was bringing over the sticky traps to put down.  I took the kids to my parents, where we stayed until Saturday.  We caught the mouse Friday night, but we wanted to make sure their wasn't a second one so we stayed with my rents and extra night.  Ah, I know people keep telling me it has nothing to do with how clean your house is, and it's totally normal!  Oh, no sir, I'm not okay with it on any level.  So, the mouse is gone and I'm still working on getting over the fact that it was ever here!!!  Please, Lord, NEVER AGAIN!!

Hmm..as for this week I ventured out with the kids by myself..to the grocery store none the less.  Only took an hour, I was presently surprised.  It only sucked as it was way to cold out and my fingers were freezing trying to get them in and out of the car, being that when I have my gloves on it's just obnoxious trying to push the buttons and yada, yada..you know what I mean!  I think that is all the updates for now (that I can remember.)

Hopefully, everyone is having a blessed holiday season.  I hope to get 1 last post in before 2014 but no promises!

Here are some of the birthday photos and some other randoms from the last few weeks..enjoy!
