Trick or Treat/39 Weeks

This past weekend keeping in mind that we are suppose to be induced on Thursday I wanted to make sure I got some trick or treating in with Kypton.  How could I miss his first experience wether good or bad.  However, we didn't have a costume and we knew we had to work around nap time or it would be a big disaster.  Lucky for us Blank Park Zoo opens their night eyes at 1:00 for the younger crowd.  Perfect for us because Kypton nap lines up with that.  We got there about 2:00 it was CRAZY busy but Kypton LOVED it.  I took some pics but there is just nothing that will express how much fun he had and the walking around he got to do in his monster costume!

Here he is:

Daddy and his little Monster

The Owl was his favorite and he asked if he could touch him, then proceeded to tell us each body part!

Really wanting to eat some candy!

He really did a good job posing for me when I asked..if if wasn't too often :)

He wanted a photo in this

He loved that he could touch everything...Mom didn't have to say it's just a pretty!

Driving!

He loved the ghosts...

 Best photo with Mommy...

We had a pretty fun weekend between picking out a costume, hanging out at Grandma and Grandpas for a bit and celebrating great grandmas 75th birthday!  He loves his candy and has decided that he needs it for breakfast and lunch.  I finally put the candy bowl in the cupboard.

As for the arrival of Kenzlie...

Well, I had my 39 week appointment on Monday.  Which I didn't have to go to but I decided I wanted to because I wanted to see if things had changed.  Nope still the same...2 weeks in a row, darn it! Then the Dr. reminded me to be very flexible because we are an elective induction so we could get bumped.  She then went on to tell me that they didn't do any elective inductions last week because things were so busy!  I am going to chalk that up to the full moon ;)  I know two others that were to be induced this week. One was Monday and one is Wednesday. The girl from Monday said things were super crazy because they are in the process of changing everything over to electronic files (which the Dr we saw last week mentioned it would probably be crazy!)  She said they were scheduled for 7:30 and didn't get started until after noon.  I was hopeful that okay she was late getting in but she got in right?  Well, she wasn't really an elective because she was having twins and had started to dilate. The girl who is suppose to go tomorrow is an elective, however.  I messaged with her tonight and she has a friend who is an L&D nurse who said they didn't do any electives on Monday or Today.  On the bright side the hospital did call her to tell her they would be contacting her between 5 and 8am to tell her when they thought she could come in.  So, I am still hopeful that she will get in as scheduled because they called her the night before which isn't all that common, or at least the Dr. said it wasn't. I guess that is the long end of it.  Either way she is going to let me know if she gets bumped then that will give me a little more info, of course if she doesn't get bumped we will get to see some sweet photos of him tomorrow sometime :) So, any extra prayers that we don't get bumped on Thursday would be appreciated as I REALLY, REALLY don't want to go past my due date (Monday!)

On another note, only a couple more hours and we will be celebrating 4 years!  Holy cow, where has the time gone?  Happy 4 years, I can't wait to see what the future holds.  Thanks for everything you do daily for our family!  I couldn't have prayed for a better man to call my husband and our kids are pretty lucky to have you as a Dad.  "I'm fine" ;)

Next post,  I hope to putting up photos of our family of four!! :)

Eviction Notice!

We're 38+1!  I can't even begin to describe how I am feeling.  Let's go with beyond exhausted at times, with bursts of energy in-between, like something is constantly on my bladder, full all the time, and last but not least READY!!

Our appointment went great!  It's always a relief to hear her heartbeat.  She is pretty steady around 146 lately.  Weight is holding steady for me and she didn't say what I was measuring at just that I was measuring like I had dropped some more.  Still at a 3 with 50-75% effacement was a little disappointed with that.  How do you have such a big change last week in 4 days and now it has been a full week and nothing.  I have started to get the swelling in my hands and feet, I was hoping that wouldn't happen this time.  I will say it didn't come near as early as last time, so I can't complain too much ;)

I'm always reading (I do a lot of googling) that each pregnancy is different.  I can honestly say I agree.  I feel so much different this time around than I did with Kypton.  Maybe because I didn't get to this point with Kypton last time.  I mean as far as being close to natural delivery.  I have a lot more cramping this time which I know I never had with him.  Typically contractions are crazy at night so I always pray my water will break in the middle of the night...so far all that happens is I wake up with a few strong contractions and then fall back a sleep.  In between bathroom breaks and her kicking/moving like crazy that is!  The last few nights she has really slowed down at night though and actually slept, which in my googling I read that when they are preparing for arrival they tend to slow down to gear up?!  Hoping there is some truth to that.

I guess if there isn't truth to that, well...we have next Thursday, October 24th booked for our induction.  We really wanted Monday but the soonest they could do was Wednesday.  Wednesday happens to be our anniversary so Dan wasn't thrilled about that so we went with Thursday.  Of course, we could get bumped if there aren't rooms available or something else out of our control comes up.  The one thing I demand is NOT going past my due date at all!  I was happy I was far enough dilated and effaced that I had the option of doing exactly what we did with Kypton.  I hope though she decides to come before that.  I'm secretly hoping for the 19th 1. So Kypton and Kenzlie will be exactly 23 months apart and 2. We can celebrate 4 years as a family of four.  Yes, I know some of you might think that is weird but I think it would be cool!

Other than patiently (trying) waiting for Kenzlie's arrival we have been enjoying every possible moment with Kypton.  He is starting to get to the point he knows something is going on.  I am just not sure how all of this is going to go over.  I know he will be a great brother and very protective.  We have been doing a lot of fun things together during the day or just doing more of what he really enjoys.  Baking a Halloween cake over the weekend, baked Grandma Rose's Chocolate Chip Cookies for Daddy today.  Enjoying sweets, coloring, playing with his train, counting the pumpkins outside, helping Mom whenever he can.  He has become so much more vocal the last few weeks as well it's insane everything he picks up (good and bad!)  He's doing a great job with counting and his alphabet, I wonder where my baby went!?!  We think he might be hitting a growth spurt as naps are around 3 hours lately as compared to 1-2 hours these past few months, and waking up at night, not to mention eating like crazy the last few days.  Other than that is just constant cleaning, cooking, and making sure the laundry stays caught up so there isn't anything to worry about when we hopefully come home next Saturday from the hospital!

We will be sure to keep everyone updated if things should change (of course) otherwise I'll probably wait to post until Kenzlie has arrived!

Those are the photos from last weekend that I promised...

Now, from the last post until today :)

Finished getting Kenzlie's art on the walls, finished getting packed, ordered her big blanket and the hat she will wear right away when she is born.  I'm pretty excited about it, Dan doesn't care either way, so I told him I hope he doesn't think he's going to put it on her then if he isn't going to be excited!  I know that will change as soon as she gets here and looks super cute in it!! ;)

We had a super busy weekend (which wasn't on the calendar!) Friday, Kypton and I cleaned house, so we wouldn't have to worry about it on Saturday..our usual cleaning day.  Dan came home early and we ran some errands, went to buybuy baby, took some books to the 1/2 price bookstore to sell, then went and got some dinner.  Saturday, got going early, then went to my cousins for the Iowa game.  Saturday, night headed over to Dan's brothers for dinner with his side of the family!  Tons of fun all day, Kypton slept about 15 minutes all day, but had an awesome time playing with his cousins!  Sunday, had our nieces baptism.  We chose to leave Kypton with my parents as we had to go to Catholic Mass first and then the baptism and we knew there was NO way he would have sat thru all of that.  Let's be real I could hardly sit/stand thru the Mass...it was tricky getting up and down so many times I might add!  After baptism we went to get him then headed over to Dan's brothers for the luncheon before heading home to stay for the rest of the day.  Kypton slept about 5 minutes.  Needless to say we had one tired little man last night.  We ended up putting him to bed an hour earlier than usual and he didn't make a peep, and he slept until about 8:30 this morning when we woke him up to get ready to go to the Dr with us!

Doctor-  I asked Dan yesterday if he thought there would be any progress.  Remember, it has only been 5 days and not even full days since we were last there.  He said, "no, it's only been 4 days."  I had a dream last night that we went in and I was at a 6 and 50% effaced.  Ha! Isn't that everyone pregnant ladies dream..get that far and not feel it?  Well I'm half way there so I won't complain too much.  I have dropped a lot from last week.  I was measuring right on last week and this week I'm measuring at 34 weeks which is how they know besides the exam that I have dropped.  I am 3 cm and she said in between 50 and 75% effaced.  I will say I have had a lot more cramping this time then I ever did with Kypton so maybe thats a good thing.  She said, "we will see ya next week unless we see ya before then at delivery."  She did mention the head was really low this week so over all I was happy with the appointment!  Crazy to know she could come any day now!

Tonight, after making dinner and going for a walk, I cleaned..again...if she doesn't come tonight I will be cleaning the kitchen tomorrow, and finishing up all the laundry (2 loads left).  Dan told me to quit nesting, but really who wants to have a baby and come home to a messy house? NOT ME!

We will keep ya posted if this week becomes a little more exciting!

The flowers my sister-in-law showed me how to make...she's crafty like that :)

Curtains, rugs...just missing the light I want...still looking....

Checking out the baby to make sure he is okay...

I was taking my 37 week photos and he wanted a photo eating his chicken nuggets...

Off to enjoy the rest of the J-E-T-S game!!
