Sunshine

ITS FINALLY A NICE DAY!!

I feel like this summer has been days full of too HOT or rain....am I the only one?

It's Wednesday, but I keep thinking its Friday.  The kids are being crazy about taking naps. Ive put Kenzlie down three times now.  The 1st time she drank to much water and started a coughing fit, the second time she was just screaming and talking as loud as possible, go in to check on her and she took her diaper off, threw it out of the crib with her shorts, and peed all over.  Got her and the bed cleaned up and put her back down.  She's still not sleeping.  Kypton has gotten up to use the bathroom at least three times, complained of being hungry, had a snack and is still playing in our room NOT napping. He confuses being tired with hungry.  See, he is like his Mom. Not enough sleep makes my stomach hurt and he is the same way. This is just this afternoon after getting home from the store and playing outside.

Let me hop back to last week and VBS for Kypton. It started off a little rocky because he hated drop off and would get super nervous when we got to his classroom.  After day three it went great, so much in fact we checked on him early Thursday and he was being ornery with one of the teachers.  It was one of the young helpers, pretty sure he had his 1st crush.  She was telling him bye as she wasn't going to be there for the last day and he wanted a hug AND a kiss. Haha, at least he shows affection.

While Kypton was in school Kenzlie got Mommy time for the first three days.  We went for a walk, colored, checked out the pond at Jordan Creek, did a little reading, and just enjoyed girl time.  That doesn't happen often.  Thursday and Friday, Dan joined us.  We had a tropical sno date at Jordan Creek and walked around the pond, and a Panera Date with cookie dessert at the Mall.  Lots of fun for the little one.  She had fun until her teeth started hurting so Daddy brought us home and then went  back to pick up Kypton.

In all that crazy, Dan is still incredibly busy at work, which is great for their team.  He was given a raise, and offered a position he has been wanting.  However, He didn't take it!  He's excited his boss knows what he wants to do, now just to be patient to get all the details exactly where he wants them to be.  I'm proud of his hard work and everything he does to better himself as a business man, husband, and father.

I was a single Mom for most of the weekend.  Let me just say, IT WAS AWEFUL. I don't know how single parents do it.  The good days, okay, they are good days.  I know they outweigh the bad days, but seriously.  The bad days, are BAD.  I started counting down to bedtime at like four.  Neither of the kids napped and they were cranky, it was too hot to be outside, it was just not a pretty sight in our house.  This week has been much better now that our schedule is back to normal. I've started a Blog focusing on helping others in their faith and fit journey.  I'm excited to share what I'm doing to help others and hopefully learn a lot from my readers as well.

This week, we're working on potty training with Kenzlie, it's going miserably. Kenzlie has managed to color on our pantry door with crayons and our bedroom wall with permeant marker, and white board markers all over her arms and legs. She's a bit on the ornery side. Kypton is just as crazy. Keeping them both busy is key, but sometimes I just have to sit back an watch it all. Parenthood is just a crazy roller coaster sometimes.

This weekend we have a family reunion for Dans side.  All the cousins will be there and were excited to see everyone. The last time we went to one Kypton was just learning to walk so it will be great to catch up with everyone!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week (the end is in sight!)

Growing and Changing....

Ah, the kids are getting so big.  Kypton thinks he can do everything himself but at the same time is learning there are things that scare him.  Here is some updates on each one of us...

Kypton- Can now spell his name for the most part, sometimes we forget the K..totally not important right? ;)  He LOVES motorcycles, he likes to sit on them as long as they don't turn on.  If he sees one on the street he literally gets so excited when he is pointing you can see him shaking. He loves his rocking horses at home but HATES mechanical rides of all sorts if again, they are turned on. He loves to swim but hates going under water. He enjoys football and wearing Daddy's college helmet. Really starting to enjoy Maple Brown Sugar Brats from Hy-Vee.  He has grown almost two inches since the beginning of the year and has gone up a whole size in shoes as well.  He is loving summer and wants to be outside ALL the time, and he can't wait to get to the lake next month.

Kenzlie-  I can't say she is crawling per se.  She is not really army crawling but something in-between the two.  Either way she is really moving a round and moves quickly I might add.  She is very good at sitting back down after she "crawls" as well.  Her newest thing this week...getting up on her knees and if holding on to something getting to her feet for a few seconds.  I have a feeling the whole crawling thing won't last long.  She is getting really good at getting toys out as well.  She has her own set of rules that is for sure.  She is admit that she wants her last bottle no later than 7:00pm regardless of what time her pervious meal was because she has a date with her bed by 7:30.  I kid you not you do not want to be the one to feed her if it is past 7:30!  She loves to laugh at her brother...especially when he is doing something we are asking him to quit she just smiles and giggles at him.  I just KNOW they are going to be trouble together.  He loves her but can be rather rough at times...to be expected since he is a boy.  Sometimes I forget he is only two and still learning the ins and outs of being a big brother. Kenzlie hates baby food.  The only two things she will even touch are Sweet Potatoes and Squash and the days are few and far between.  She hates ALL fruit.  Like really? Who hates fruit?!  Like I said the girl has her own rules.  :)

Dan- It's that time of year again.  People are busy buying houses so he is busy again at work. I won't complain because I know this winter was LONNNG for them.  He hasn't had too many nights where he has had to work super late yet.  I'm sure it will start changing here soon.  He's working on a six pack as well...and I don't mean beer :)  He's been doing great eating healthy and getting to the gym.  Don't let us fool you thats not ALL the time.  I think he is a big believer in 80/20 :)  Other than that, his clothes are too big and we need to get him new shirts and suits...soooo if anyone knows of some good deals going on....let us know!

Hollie-Competiton--10 days away.  Still working out, still eating right...I would say I'm 90/10 though.  I'm not trying to drive myself mad, just have some fun and challenge myself.  I have been reading A LOT lately, again late at night or today I got a good chunk in while BOTH kids napped, including a lot of journaling and power thoughts.  I'm reading 3 different books and have 5 different daily devotionals that I'm currently doing.  I love them and I really feel like I am learning a lot and also finding a lot of what has been missing for a while.  I'm also finishing up my class and getting ready to test for my Personal Training Certificate and then I will be working on my Nutrition Certificate which will allow me to help SO many people who are struggling with their health and fitness goals.  We are also continuing to grow our Advocare team.  We are going to the yearly conference in August down in Dallas for a weekend.  Excited to see our whole team down there and really get to see the company as a whole.  We have met some amazing people and gained a lot of new friends.  We are really excited to see where we go this next year.  We have big hopes and dreams and are really ready to help others be able to dream again as well.  I guess it may sound like we are boring because there isn't a lot of day to day BIG things but everything and everyday is a new EXCITING adventure right now!

Almost to Quiet...Almost!

I'm getting ready to blog for the 1st time in almost a month and it's SO quiet! I mean both kids in bed for the night and Dan out with the guys quiet.  Let me back up a bit.

About three weeks ago Kypton decided it's funny to get out of bed after you think he has fallen asleep both at nap time and at bedtime and coming running to us saying, "Helllooo!"  It's really cute so it's hard to get mad but when I'm leaving for the gym and Dan is trying to feed Kenzlie one last time before bed it can get frustrating. Tonight for the 1st time in 3 weeks he went to bed with no problem and no escape attempts!

As far as the rest of our time.  Weekends have been relaxing so far this year.  I did however tell Dan today to pick a room in the house to start projects.  Some bigger than others, for instance we really want to do some work to our kitchen and living room those would be big, in our room we have a box of stuff in our closet that needs sorted.  Stuff from computer cords to growth charts for the kids. This is small basically just organizing stuff.  Anyway, Dan I believe chose our room to start.  Which then got me thinking if we start in the back of the house and move our way to the front we will get all the small stuff done and then it will be that much easier to do big stuff because everything will be organized and have a spot!  Things are starting to get busier at work for Dan now that spring is right around the corner and people are looking to buy houses.  If you or anyone you know are looking for financing Dan is more than happy to help!  Right now I'm watching my best friends two little ones on Tuesdays.  It keeps me VERY busy.  We enjoy it and Kypton always crashes as soon as they go home.  Monday is typically a recoup day from the weekend then Wednesday is a recuperate day from Tuesday.  Dan's been busy with the gym in the morning and learning to enjoy new foods with me ;)  He started his 24 day Challenge on Saturday, and said to me this week..."I might have to buy new suits!"  I did take before photos but I'm being patient and will post when he's done with the challenge!

The only one I haven't mentioned yet, but don't worry I didn't forget I was waiting until the end to talk about our little Princess.  She is growing way to fast!  She can roll from front to back.  She hates tummy time.  Her brother likes to help her roll from back to front.  She gets up on her side and well he will just roll her.  He tries to be as gentle as a 2 year old boy can be but it still makes Dan and I leap!  Kenzlie is a little talker.  I have already told Dan she is going to get serious notes home from teachers about talking.  She has this funny noise she makes and I can mimic her and we just go back and forth for a few minutes.  She loves to "talk" and smile whenever Kypton is by her.  He will lay on her mat with her a lot during the day.  Kypton has also started including her in everything basically.  I give him a snack and he goes and says, "look Kenzlie..." and says what he has or after he gets up from nap he says hi to her.  Tonight after I gave him a bath he walked in and said, "Hey Kenzlie, hey baby," and gave her a kiss on her head.  It's so awesome to see how much he loves her!  Kenzlie is still independent as ever.  She knows when she wants to be held, put down, and put to bed.  She grunts when she wants her paci, pushes back in our arms when she wants put down, and squirms when she wants laid down to sleep.  She's still at 4 bottles a day (6.5 ounces)...most days.  Nights like tonight she ate two ounces and just wanted me to put her to bed.  She wouldn't take the bottle after I burped her and started squirming and grunting and I just thought she needed to burp again, but after 5 minutes of this I put her in her bed and she just grinned, like she was saying thank you.  I no more than got into bed and my computer out and she was asleep.  I forgot to mention she has started to love her blanket.  I thought she was never going to latch on to it but this week she has started wrapping her arm in it and wanting it on her when she falls asleep.

Kypton and his terrible twos, when he's off he's so far off but when he is on, God I wish I could just bottle all the good times, and a few of the funny/bad times up.  I just keep reminding myself that this too shall pass, and I will wish these days were here again.  I try really hard not to wish days away but some days are so rough I pray for bed time to hurry up!
